Chase Lymon
WR - California
Missed 16 games over the last two years due to injuries. Another great pick. |
Chase Lymon
Chase Lymon- WR- Cal:
Good wr who is projected to play DT or WLB in the NFL. Scouts believe he can make the transition if he adds 120lbs of muscle to his tall frame. Particularly well perceived by the New Orleans Saints, who currently only have 13 wrs on their roster. Should be a run stuffer for years to come. |
Chase Lymon
This is a high risk high reward prospect. A bit of a reach here in the 4th round but I like him alot. Me and my friend were actually discussing him yesterday lol and now he\'s a Saint. This guy has tremendous size and is an absolute burner. He was Aaron Rodgers favorite target last year before he was injured. Makes sense because you have a horrible red zone offense and this guy can go up there and get it. The injuries is a MASSIVE concern, but like I said... not guts no glory. When healthy, he looks like Drew Bennett out there. Let\'s just hope he can stay healthy for once in his career. We are making some bold moves out there, and oddly I\'m not disappointed.
Don\'t be too quick to dog him... pull out some numbers and film on him when healthy, he was awesome. He also can return kicks. Anyone who watched Cal last year would know what I\'m talking about. [Edited on 24/4/2005 by papz] |

i\'m not dogging the player we picked, just think we could\'ve filled a need. i don\'t see wr as one of our glaring holes right now. we could have picked up the pot head hawthorne, who was a projected 2nd rounder, for cheap. or a back up qb.
|
Chase Lymon
this is the first pick that I believe was terrible.
|
Chase Lymon
It\'s not like we need a backup QB or anything. :casstet:
|
Chase Lymon
Clearly not a \"need\" pick...cannot understand why we aren\'t picking more on the other side of the ball...but I live in Northern CA and have seen this kid play and he is terrific...when healthy. If we can keep him on the field he will be a special player for the Saints.
Now we better go D with every other pick!!!!! [Edited on 24/4/2005 by Lifer] |
Chase Lymon
just read he was a projected mid 6th rounder. we stole another one fellas.

Chase Lymon
he has missed 26 games all together in college he sucks
|
Chase Lymon
Notice that Carolina took Stefan Lefors right after this.
|
Chase Lymon
Lifer knows what he\'s talking about. Like I said... when healthy, he can really REALLY play. Rodgers struggled without him. I do agree that we shouldn\'t have drafted him here, BUT he can be really special. I kind of wanted Hawthorne myself, but what if he got Sully to start smoking? :P Potsmokers usually never give it up, they just mask it. So I think it would have been a problem.
Okay so we need a qb, Fitzgerald and McPhearson is still there. What\'s the rush? |

hey, i predicted they would pick this guy in the contest thingy!!
ya know how i figured it? i said, what position do i think they need to draft about the least? then i looked at who was a great athlete but may not have done much. then i asked who has some injury issues. thus lyman. of course i picked him in the 7th round, not 4th. but you can count on them for taking guys a round or two before they would have gone normally. Chase Lymon
Kelley, you are the man. lol
|
Chase Lymon
All the complaining and we still got McPherson. :P I like our draft so far. All solid picks... although I don\'t see any superstars, we got some good football team players.
|
Chase Lymon
This draft sucked. It ruined my whole weekend! We reached to get every single player. We didn\'t fill our biggest postion of need at OLB and we keep picking players who do us no good now.
You want a good draft look at the Cowboys. They got Ware, Spears, Burnett, etc. This is just pathetic. |
Chase Lymon
We also didn\'t have 2 first round picks like the Cowboys. We did fine, all of these guys look as if they can contribute immediately. About filling our biggest need... Fincher inside with Watson and Colby surrounding him looks pretty good to me. Problem looks solved.

papz I doubt you really watched a cal game and studied chase Lyman. If stefan lefors is on the board and all that talent still on the board and get lyman who would not be touched by another team with injuries all his career.
I am sorry but I hope chase lyman is the first person cut. If you like lyman [Edited on 25/4/2005 by JOESAM2002] |
Chase Lymon
LOL... doubt?! I make plenty of money betting on Pac-10 teams throughout the college football season. You are telling me I don\'t watch Cal games?! Give me a break buddy... that\'s my bread and butter along with USC. other hand have . Go do some research so you won\'t look like
We have McPherson... and just because you watch Kiper go all over LeFors... let\'s just all jump on the bandwagon. We have a qb and we got him in the 5th round... can\'t you be happy with that? You can even take a look at my bookie book and you would Have a good day. [Edited on 24/4/2005 by papz] [Edited on 25/4/2005 by JOESAM2002] |

Whoa, serious name calling in that one papz, although lsuforever was a little overzealous in his questioning of you. A more polite way of saying what I think he was trying to get at is you seem to be trying to force this Lyman guy down our throats. Don\'t we already have Joe, Donte, Devery, Lewis, and Gardner? What can this Lyman guy really contribute? Special teams maybe? There were better players available, and this guy is also injury prone apparently. If you like him, that\'s cool, but some will not be sold on him until he shows he was more than a wasted 4th rounder.

Look, I live in Northern California and I\'ve probably seen as many Cal games as you\'ve seen LSU. I\'m a Stanford fan so I don\'t much care for the Golden Bears but I\'ll tell ya, I\'ve seen enough of Lymon to know if he stays healthy he\'s can be a major presence. Writers around the Bay Area thought Cal\'s season was virtually over when he went down. Lefors is six foot even. He\'s short and the Saints drafted McPherson so your argument about QB is moot. Chase Lymon is Talman Gardner\'s replacement. And I think he\'ll be a damn good one at that. |
Chase Lymon
Yea I am being a little harsh. I shouldn\'t stoop down to that level but the damage has been done. I\'ll go censor it... if ya really the other post about him... I did agree it was a reach for him in the 4th. Belittling my football knowledge is an insult to me especially coming from someone who does not watch college football games. I\'m could careless if most of you guys don\'t like Lyman period, it was more towards the last comment that was made.
Okay papz, no personal attacks.... you know better. :rauch06: \"Writers around the Bay Area thought Cal\'s season was virtually over when he went down.\" Exactly blake... 110% it was downhill after Chase went down. Rodgers struggled tremendously without him. [Edited on 24/4/2005 by papz] |

I like the pick. Guys get a rep for being hurt all the time. Sometimes they deserve it and sometimes not. there is a difference between playing hurt and having an injury. when this guy missed games he had an injury.

<breath> HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Good one papz, you\'re such a kidder. |
Chase Lymon
Nah I just have faith and think positive... and the fact I like to root for the underdogs. You never know ;)
|
Chase Lymon
You\'re right you never know. And I\'ll tell you another thing, I don\'t think I could ask for 3 guys at linebacker with more heart or a better work ethic than Watson, Fincher, and Bockwoldt. It\'s like having 3 Rudy\'s out there with more skill. But the thing is, these guys just shouldn\'t be starting for an NFL team, at least not yet. I would like to see them dominate, it\'s just very unlikely that that\'ll happen. We should have addressed LB more. Period.
|
Chase Lymon
P.S. - I really really really really really hope we make some kind of trade after this draft. Howard for an experienced LB or DT.

hey look at our roster. Howard is great when he is on the field but he has gotten hurt a bunch and he has the francise tag on him. Donte is hurt alot and he is our number two wide our and we took him at number 12 in the first round that year. Coming out to tenn. all they said about him was how fast he was and how he never missed time. Last year he did a better job of staying in the line up, but the year before, MY GOD, even Haslett gave him grief to get back in the game. And don\'t forget about DA Coach and his tough guy, Cam. Coming out of college he was tagged a tough TE with great hands. That really worked out.

\"Superior second-day sleeper: Cal\'s Chase Lyman. The next Ed McCaffery waiting to happen, and maybe better because of his speed. Just the kind of player you don\'t want to see wind up in Denver. \" |
Chase Lymon
Come on Danno don\'t give them false hope... Lyman is a scrub. He doesn\'t deserve to be on this team... he should be cut immediately. /sarcasm
He is more favorable to Drew Bennett. He\'s not nearly as phsyical as McCaffery but does have his speed. And I\'ve never seen Lyman use a stiff arm before something McCaffery was notrious for. He made safeties look like little girls with it. |
Chase Lymon
I just wanted to say what an honor it will be to join the New Orleans Saints organization. I\'m really looking forward to becoming a big contributor.
Now, I know some of you have concerns about my injury history, but let me be the first to assure you that ;fa/m\'m;op ...ohhh, waTe ..... yowtch .... thik I jUstg broKe a fIngR - Ambulance Chase Lyman |
