I give Savage maybe a 50% chance of making the roster. Several mock drafts have the Saints drafting Lamar Jackson, I am sure the Saints will also be watching the waiver wire for other viable veteran options, and it's possible Taysom Hill could be ready to assume the top backup spot.

If Hill beats out Savage we might actually have something. Savage is scrappy.

I only saw Savage play a couple of times but he looked competent in the pocket. If he works out that's great......if not then Hill is a happy camper.

Definitely an upgrade from Chase...and I like Chase! Tom will put pressure on the "next one" and that's all good!

My assumption is the saints want Mayfield. Will they trade up to get him? I highly doubt they will be able move up high enough to grab him. Lamar Jackson is out of the equation. I hope if a suitable player don't drop then we trade down and pick DJ Chark in the second round.
