One Guys Thoughts on Stuff and Things

OK JKool, thanks for clearing that up. I still have only skimmed, but will re-read later on.

So, in effect, we might play him at SS - or so we hope. And if it pans out like that, then I\'m not pissed. Or rather, not as pissed.

If he rides the bench, however, then I\'m still -way- pissed. In particular about 1) passing over LB\'s in the second, 2) taking that oft-injured guy in the 4th, and 3) trading up for Brown when Barron was still on the board. (I posted before that the only way the draft value chart on that one adds up is if the Saints finish 24th or worse during next year -- correct that -- 8th or better). I still see huge problems down the middle of our defense. LB was addressed too late in the draft.

No doubt Bullocks is a great safety. But that will do us no good if Bellamy is on the field and Bullocks is on the bench.

The only way I see to salvage this season is if 1) Rodney Leisle or Green steps up and/or 2) Howard gets traded for a stud LB or DT.

And we\'ve already given away our 3rd next year (to move up a -massive- three slots), and that just adds salt.

Forgive my pessimism, but I\'m still pretty damn emotional about this.

I agree with you on your points 1) and 2).

I won\'t mess with you, since your emotional right now, but the Bullocks pick wasn\'t that bad - several people here had Safety as a HIGH need going in to the draft (I didn\'t). I also don\'t think that our season hinges on the draft (though I agree that we need help in the middle of our defense in a big way).
