SP had a press conference (technically today)

ESW is all over it at SR. Basically SP said that TE and DE were serious needs. He also said that the next qb will not be a "Brees clone."

He's also said he likes Jackson.

I think from gathering all of this, it seems unless this is all a bunch of press dinner(in other words the media eating it up), it does not appear we're going to break the draft to move up in the top ten.

We don't really need a QB. Maybe someone to look at in a few years. Brees is solid. He's a playmaker and he's money. I wouldn't trust anyone else to run our offense right now anyway.

Drafting a QB doesn’t mean Brees isn’t our starter. But if the talent is there why wouldn’t you draft a potential starter? Especially one who could be ready in 2-3 years? What if we win a SB this year and Brees retires?

I believe a QB will be drafted by the Saints next month. The question is ... which round?

Has Brady retired yet? He's 41.

3rd. Unless Mayfield falls all the way to us at 27 which shouldn't happen.

Why? We tried for a QB a couple years ago in the 3rd.

I think we take Lauletta if he's there the bottom of the 3rd. SP may even trade up in the 3rd.

Are you saying the Patriots should pass on a takented QB too? Because I doubt they would.

We just don't have the draft capital to draft a QB this year. I actually liked Savage before he went down last year. He might surprise some folks on here. We are too close not to give Drew a piece to work with rather than investing in his replacement. Win now! Drew is still the best and we have several needs that have to be filled in the draft.

I'm saying Brees is younger than Brady and Brady, two years older, is showing no signs of decline.

Savage got shut down by the jaguars and Houston won only one more game after Watson went down.
