Draft trade with Lions??
According to a post I just read on CBS Sportsline.com, there is a rumor that the Lions traded their #2 pick for our two first round picks and a third round pick. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone think this would be a good move if in fact it is true??

Draft trade with Lions??
Does the post say for which player the Saints would trade? Only one who comes to mind is Jimmy Kennedy. I\'ll be holding back comments until I know a little more about the general idea of such a trade.

Draft trade with Lions??
I have a hard time believing that. The Saints are trying to overhaul a defense. Why would they give up 3 picks to move up 15 spots in the first round? There\'s no super star in the draft worth doing that for. Certainly not at the positions we need to fill. The Saints are trying to build a team. They\'ve done well in the draft since Haslett got here and they know that. I really doubt there\'s much truth behind that rumor. Especially since free agency begins Friday and I\'m guessing they\'re more focused on free agents than the draft right now.

Draft trade with Lions??
O.K. I believe that is totally false that the Saints would make a trade like that. I think they\'ve learned something with the botched Rickey Williams deal. Why on Earth would the Saints trade 3 picks to move up to the second pick? It just wouldn\'t make sense. I know the Saints have had a history of bonehead moves, but this would rank just below the Ditka/Williams marriage.....and maybe throw Vaughn Dunbar in there, too. Anyways, there would be no logic in giving up those picks. There will be good talent on the board by the time they draft, so no need to give it up. If we were getting the pick and a player from Detroit, it would seem logical. Since that isn\'t the case, then ix-nay that idea.

Draft trade with Lions??
Sno,
You can dismiss this as just another internet rumor. Anyone can start these and people will believe it because they read it somewhere. There is NO WAY the Saints will trade both firsts AND a third to move up anywhere. Now, depending on how many holes they fill in FA, it wouldn\'t suprise me to see them trade up with one of their first round picks to take Trufant, then trade down with the other first round pick to recoup whatever they had to give up to take Trufant. That\'s the beauty of having two #1\'s and two #3\'s. Plenty of options. |

Draft trade with Lions??
I read exactly what he was talking about. It was a post put up my some desperate Lions fan. I even replied to it myself with basically the same thing I stated in here. It isn\'t something that is floating around that the big dogs are coming up with. Don\'t worry Saints fans, the rumor is definitely not supported.

Draft trade with Lions??
I wasn\'t trying to start a rumor at all. I read it on a bulletin board on the website, which is why I said that I had read a \"post,\" not some story on the Saints page of the website. Anyways, I myself thought it was pretty ridiculous, I was just curious if anybody here had heard of this. If you still don\'t believe and REALLY need the post for me to prove it, then here:
http://www.sportsline.com/messages/m...7-woundedtiger So there, before you start criticizing me of starting a rumor, look deeper and read messages more clearly. Thanks. |
