Why no DJ?????
I'm not upset about the OT because that was a need but with Derrick Johnson the highest rated LB in the draft on the board why not take him. The offense was rated 18th last year the defense was 32 shouldn't that take precedence!

Most agree, but after the dust settles Brown is a good pick IF we are truly committed to running more. Our line is instantly leagues better. Hopefully it keeps the D off the field, and helps their play and ranking. I am still pissed about DJ too, as we will watch him go to numerous pro bowls. C\'est la vie.

Why no DJ?????
Like I said I\'m not upset about the pick but with the 13th pick in the draft the 32TH RANKED DEFENSE in the league takes an OFFENSIVE player from what I hear to some scouts he wasn\'t the best tackle in the draft. There is no doubt the DJ was the best LB why not draft him.

Brown was the better pick at the 13th spot. Create more protection and blocking on OL you increase ball-control and less time the D on the field... so in turn less time for them to f-up, lol. There was other talent on the D side for the team to improve at later rounds plus on the admin side of D, should improve as well, so hopefully that\'ll improve the D as well.

Let\'s also not forget that running the ball/ball control can become a non-factor when you\'re down 14 points in the first quarter....
Just pointing out that the D is still questionable, especially against the run. |

Maybe they\'re ranking of DJ as 2nd round talent wasn\'t a smokescreen after all. I read that the defensive guys they were targeting were all off the board and they didn\'t want to lose out this time on their man. It must have been Rolle and Pac man they were referring to.

I agree with that Danno, but then that begs the question. How is the consensus top LB in the draft, even with his question marks( and EVERY draft pick had them although Brown may have had the fewest in the first round), not rated as a first round pick for a team LB starved? And how is a safety who regressed this past season not better rated than a Burnett in the wnd round for a LB starved team? I think that is most baffling. I woudl have had less of a prob with not taking DJ had we taken at least Burnett in the second.
