Personally, I hate all the options mentioned in this article...

If they haven't already, the Saints need to have a competent, legit national talent search agent handling this hire...

After all, we want the right voice on all our clips, including the SI video for what should be a terrific season this year... ;)

Is Skymike being considered?

Who is the guy that post pre-game analysis on here. Believe he is from La. He should at least put his name in the hat. He does an outstanding job and knows football. Think it's Emory?

I think Mike Hoss will eventually get the job.

Probably best to go with someone young, late 20's, early 30's. Maybe it's a bygone era having them around for decades but it's one thing I have noticed about great franchises. They have someone that becomes an icon in the city.

Just got back from Fenway and that guy has been there forever. He's fused to the team and park.

I think Christan Garick is awful. Horrible. Turrible even. I'll support whomever they choose but please don't choose that tool!

Romo is a color commentator, not a play by play announcer. There is a huge difference. There is no way Strief could handle that job. Doing play by play takes years of practice.

Anyone listened to Joel Myers broadcast a Pelicans game? I think he would be a solid choice as well.

You might be right...

Did not realize he was the voice of the Lakers before.

Joel Meyers has long-standing love for Crescent City

Joel Myers could put a colicky baby to sleep in Parasols on St. Patrick's Day...

The last couple of pre-season games, he was absolutely awful, sounded like a scrub announcer completely unfamiliar with the Saints...

If he was really interested in a long-term gig, he'd been trying to set a better impression the past two seasons...

I honestly thought it would be Garic from the start. I think he’s about the most intelligent and most professional of the lot. He can gel with just about anyone and he and Deuce are much better together than Deuce was with Henderson. Deuce was awful with Henderson.

If Deke were to get the job I would quit listening.
Honestly we are going to hate whoever they choose for a couple years. Can’t replace Henderson.

Deke can't get the job, he got thrown out at WWL after he lost his cool with station management. Hasn't been seen since.

But honestly Deke sounded like a coon-azz Gomer Pyle.

Just get Mike Hoss or Joel Myer or Juan Kincaid and be done with it.

Why not talk Henderson into coming back one more year then hiring someone that could sit with him and Duece and train them for the job?

I never did get the whole story in why he got the boot. I knew he was gone but another poster mentioned him as a candidate and I think that would be the worst idea ever.
Kincaid may be good. Still think it’s Garic though.

What makes you so sure it's Garic? he's just horrible, I don't understand!!??

Has Garic ever done play by play? Any replacement will have to be experienced calling a game and not just reporting or adding color. Calling a game (play by play) takes a special talent.

I don’t understand what’s not to like about him. He’s like a Genius compared to captain caveman and lowbrow when they were both on sports talk. He’s intelligent, seems to know his ****, and has a good rapport with Duece. He’s funny too. I don’t get all the hate on him.
Guido may be right about the play by play but who else in that lot has any experience? (I don’t know)
Garic has been down on the field for years and I think he is intelligent enough to get it.

I'd take Sean Kelly or Shreveport native Tim Brando over Garic.

IIRC Garic filled in for Henderson/Hokie during a pre season game ... he doesn't have it. I could name at least 5 guys who are better on radio.

Jim Henderson made it sound & look easy because he was polished, articulate & very skilled on play by play analysis.
