Offensive line = Brooks to Pro Bowl

For ANYone who thinks Brooks has been playing behind good offensive lines ... CLEARLY we haven\'t been watching the same games.
Turley - He was horrible.

Roaf - Yea he sucked too.

Fontenot - One of the worse centers who\'ve ever played the game.

Holland - Wow what is he like 5\'2 130, he blocks like a girl.

Bentley - Who? Did we sign this guy from the XFL?

Naole - This guys isn\'t anchoring Jacksonville\'s line is he? WTF?

YES CLEARLY, WE have been in outer space.
I\'m surprised you responed to one of my \"retarded\" threads, papz?

But since you did ...

Brooks had a much better line when Turley and Roaf was here. But that was a long time ago.

Seems like you\'re living in the past, papz. When\'s the last time you saw Roaf or Turley in a Saints\' uniform? That\'s about what I thought!!

What I said was that our offensive line has sucked at pass blocking for the past TWO years.

Was Turely and Roaf here the past two years.

Back on you papz.

Trust me I\'m not the only one who thinks some of your threads are retarded lol. Doesn\'t mean I\'m going to stop responding.

Yeah, that\'s what I\'ll do, papz. But if YOU will go back and read MY thread, you\'ll see what I\'ve really been saying.

Which was our offensive line has sucked at pass blocking for the past two years.

I loved our offensive line when Roaf and Turley were here.

Ok our 2003 offensive line sucked... and Brooks made it to the ProBowl as an alternate. He must be really really good and our line did not contribute to that at all. Fontenot, Jacox, Bentley, Holland... was on that line... and most of them are still here. In fact 2 of them will be starting this year from that line. You take away a Turley and added an aging Gandy. You take away a Riley... one good year... one bad year, and you replace him with a rookie. If Jordan Gross and Robert Gallery couldn\'t make an impact in their first year, what makes you think Brown and our line will be so great? What makes you think it will be anything different than any other year? What makes you think he has a minute chance of beating any other NFC quarterback getting into the Probowl? What makes you think Brooks will stop making mental lapses and hold on to the ball for 7 plus seconds? What makes you think he won\'t throw the ball backwards?

Did ya really start watching football in 2003 or 2004? Because even if you are only talking about the past 2 seasons sir, we obviously have not been watching the same games. In 2004 maybe, but definately not 2003.

Yea yea... anyways I missed your TWO years in the other thread geez. I tend to skim through real fast when I\'m doing other things at the same time. Bite me.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Wow I just read what I wrote... and it sounds so negative lol. I\'m hoping for what you are hoping Gumbo which is a little odd... but our 2003 line and 2004 line wasn\'t much different from each other. I can\'t see how you can say the past TWO years. Our 2003 line played well... it regressed in 2004. Hopefully it will bounce back and everything will be on the up and up.

papz --

See, that\'s were I differ from many folks concering our offensive line. MANY folks say our offensive line was good in 2003. And they were good in 2003. As run blockers.

In 2003 we would all come here to B&G and comment on the games. Some of us complained and complained about the offensive line\'s pass blocking. It wasn\'t just me. But I was the loudest critic of our offensive line back in 2003. But, I certainly wasn\'t alone.

Folks kept telling me that our offensive line was good because of all the yards Deuce was rushing for. And I kept complaining about all the pressure Brooks was getting. Most of it seemed to be coming right up the middle.

I was actually glad they got rid of Fontenot because I saw him get beat quite a bit. But, Bentley seemeed to struggle at center last year. At least early on.

In any event ... we disagree on the offensive line\'s pass blocking in 2003. I just know what I saw. And it wasn\'t pretty. Not in my opinion. Funny how people see different things when watching the same game.

I will say this. I do not disrespect your opinion. I just don\'t agree with it.

When do I ever, EVER, base my opinions on anything but what I see on the damn field, Billy? Do I ever make claims based about anything with only a flimsy article written by some ass that I don\'t know? Brooks had ample time to make plays the year before, and it paid off, he was a pro-bowl alternate. Last year was different, the o-line had a poor season.
I was talking to a buddy of mine, and mentioned that with the drafting of Brown, maybe all these stupid false start penalties would subside and we could actually score some points in the first quarter instead of playing from behind all the damn time.
But don\'t sit there and try and act like Brooks was completely absolved from fault last year, because he made his fare share of mistakes.

The waiting drove me mad....
I don't want to hear from those that know...
Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed

Okay ... point taken. I can remember you and I arguing back in 2003 over the offensive line\'s pass blocking. Remember? I complained about Fontenot?

Anyway, just a difference of opinion. I do think the offensie line was much better in 2003. But I still don\'t think they were good at pass blocking.

There\'s a problem with the snap exchange between Bentley and Brooks this past year, that we didn\'t have the previous year with Fontenot. That created confusion for us which I am hoping they\'ll hammer that out in the offseason.
