I guess the front office knew he was gone one way or another. I wish him well. Damn we have upgraded in that one position. If we can get Huff to turn it around and get a good TE and WR in the draft now we'll be much improved on offense.

The Ravens aren’t finished trying to rebuild their receiving corps.

According to multiple reports, which PFT has confirmed, the Ravens have signed Saints restricted free agent Willie Snead to a two-year offer sheet worth up to $10.4 million.

The Saints have five days to match it, though it seems unlikely they would.

The Saints signed Bears RFA Cameron Meredith to join a group including Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn, which wouldn’t seem to leave much room for Snead at any price. They also brought back Brandon Coleman.

Not a surprise that he's leaving at all, but I am surprised at what Baltimore is paying him. Good for him though....wish him the best!

I wish him the best as well. It seemed pretty clear something was amiss and the writing was on the wall for quite some time. I am a Snead fan, & had hoped he'd make a comeback here. Good luck in Baltimore!

The Saints tendered Snead, but they used the lowest tender so they will get no compensation should they decide against matching a deal with Ravens or anyone else.

Great deal for him and we already have it covered with CM. Everybody won on paper except the Ravens overpaying.

Man o man this is big deal we just signed meridith which we have a coin flip that he’ll be ready to go in week 1, Snead I believe would have had a re- break out year again with a hug and kiss from Payton and drafting a rookie unless u hit pay dirty like colston . I too new he was gone just don’t believe it till well he’s gone. Coleman looks like another year in Saints uniform if he not pitted against a high wr draft pick

It surprises me that Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome would pay up to 10M for a guy who had 9 catches in 11 games last year.

I like Snead and I wish him well. It's a great deal for him.

I also don't think it breaks our stride at all. Onward and (more importantly) upward.

OK...it isn't just me! $10M is a lot of money for a guy that really needs to prove himself as a consistent receiver. The contract may be heavily weighted towards incentives rather than base pay, but still, that's a lot of cash over 2 years.

We paid 10 million to a receiver who didn't catch a single ball last year. So they are hoping for results similar to the previous year......just like we are.

To be fair we just paid $10 for a guy with ZERO carved last year.

For the record, I think both signings are slight gambles but worth the risk for both teams.

It’s true CM didn’t play a snap but he only had 9 less catches than Snead. CM showed more explosiveness sitting in street clothes than Snead showed in the game.

Not much out there, even at that price so I get it. Barring last season, he's a turn key WR. CM has more upside but he is not turn key. Looks like they are going with something that is safe since their WR corp is dismal minus Crabtree. Even he is not that good.

Played w/ what will be the most prolific passes in NFL history and managed 11 catches.

Ravens definitely overpaid. He may bounce back and live up to it but it is a slight risk. No way the saints were going to pay that. Liked willie till he played the fool. Maybe the contract is evidence he has gotten his head on straight. He'll miss Drew.

Really looking forward to seeing Carr on the field. You know the Pats wanted to keep him but they were loaded at the time.

Didn't we snag Lutz from Baltimore? Who knows, maybe NO Brass put in a good word for Snead w/ Baltimore. You never know about how the front office relationships work. I mean, Lutz was a gift5, maybe we did Baltimore & Willy a solid at the same time...

Even if CM does not work out we are still in good shape! Snead was a non factor for the most part last year and we still got it done. And agree on Carr, he is in the mix now but we got him too late last year IMO. He is going to get his shot this year.

No doubt, he could totally be a wet fuse but we don't know. Stats prove though that that injury, if it happens at a young age, they do in fact recover most of the time so that factored into it I'm sure. If he was older, NO WAY. He is still a young man and will likely bounce back.

To be fair, it's not like Snead didn't get a chance to shine upon his return last year. And there's a reason the Patriots hate that we scooped up Austin Carr. Flacco is no Brees. That difference alone will affect Snead's numbers. Time will tell on who steps up to bolster our WR corps.
