Perhaps they don't want him scrambling his eggs while wearing a Saints helmet.
That probably wouldn't be a good look for the organization.
Just a guess.

In all seriousness, his concussion injury is still ongoing, sounds pretty seriousness and suspect it goes back to the cheap shot in training camp...

So if we're better folks than ATL, Philly, or New York fans, instead of bashing on him, we may want to maybe throw him a little love...

Besides, his signing was offered by Payton and the Mickster - so if you're throwing shade, let them share in it...

I'm glad he's gone but I hope he's OK. For one thing if he picks up with another team they will pay some of our dead money I think.

When I saw him at training camp I was stunned! Fleener was the laziest looking player I have ever seen on the football field. He ran sloppy routes and was a major disappointment.

Swing and a miss.............better luck next time! :p

I think it was a prudent move and showed anti-Fleener/Byrd/Galette actions that we didn't get in a bidding war with Green Bay for Graham.

Brate got overpaid too. We brought in Watson as a solid stop-gap. Hill and alphabet are still here. I expect the plan is that the TEs we brought in (Woz) will be developed to replace Watson next season and if not, look at FAs/draft next season.

That $8.2 million dead money remains dead. $4.8 million of it is signing bonus that has already been paid to Fleener. The remaining $3.4 million is the portion of the 2018 salary that became guaranteed on 2/7/2018. By declaring him a post 6/1 release $3.2 million (2019 and 2020 $1.6 million signing bonus prorated amounts) will count against the 2019 cap. If he had retired the Saints could have had grounds for retaining a portion.

I remember when some said. The playbook is complicated, it takes a season to understand it.....yeah tell that to Thomas, Kamara, and Ginn Jr.

What about my post suggested anything about Fleener personally?

I meant that the team is protecting the player and the organization.

When the play is designed for you, you have a way of remembering it.

That's the issue. Payton's offensive playbook is filled with plays that can be executed by any virtually player, regardless of position.
