There is a problem with that theory.

As the Saftey you are the deepest guy... and all you do is tackle in this situation - prevent the big play even if it was a big play like the catch you are to clean it up not be 'involved'. Its called situation awareness.

Look as if he wanted to have a stake in the play because the catch almost seemed impossible so he went for being involved and lost track of the 'situation awareness'. He f'ed up on the plan plan and simple. He takes ownership of it but its time to learn from it and move on.

Poor communication from Payton and Dennis Allen played a part in that as well...

Plus, the offense was rolling and Payton went against his nature and went super conservative running Kamara up the middle...

Forcing us to kick a FG instead of converting a 3rd and short and allowing us to eat up the remainder of the clock then kick...

You bet we got to do it while Drew can still see the end-zone.
I don't want to see him running around with Chuck Muncie
glasses. Sorry Chuck RIP.

The Seattle one stings because they were the only 7-9 team to ever make the playoffs and they beat us as the defending champs.

He basically panicked in the moment and misjudged it.

Got there far too early and tried to stop Diggs from going out of bounds, but missed completely.

Only he knows what happened. Time to drop the whole thing and move on to Lombardi Number II.

If Payton had not called the time out, this play never happened. Sean Payton blew that game, Williams just missed a tackle and contributed to our choke.
