I'm kinda torn on this. Most concussions I have seen, and all I have gotten, while playing have been on kickoffs. If it can eliminate them thats a good thing. At the same time kickoffs are both fun to play and watch.

This would be a nightmare to officiate. The positioning requirements initially look complicated enough, but just wait until Belechick studies it for 30 minutes. I can see almost every kickoff requiring a referee scrum to figure out if there was a penalty or not.

I got an idea - let's have a scrum...

And all of those flat-footed 6' 0" two-down linebackers could still have a job!

But it still does nothing to save the term the idea of the Kickoff or kickoff time...
