Some of you folks on here.... I just have to shake my head.
Let's engage our brain matter for a moment. If Taysom Hill was f******* proven quantity at the QB position, he wouldn't be on our roster, now would he? No, he wouldn't. He'd be some team's starting QB. So, if someone is wanting proof that he's a sensational NFL level QB, well sorry, that evidence doesn't exist. So, let's take what we do know. 1) Sean Payton (& other staff coaches) thinks he's fantastic. That may hold a bit more weight than you think if you look at it closely. Sean Payton was a frikin QB. Do ya think it's possible he might have a little more insight about a player at that position than say.. I dunno, a Free Safety? I'd say yeah, he does. 2) Taysom played Special Teams last year for a few games & made an immediate impact. He hurried (& nearly blocked) at least 2 punts, & made several solo tackles. Not impressed yet? OK, can you name any QB or backup QB in the league that has done anything like that? Hmm, I don't recall any...ever. And what does that say about his QB skills? Nothing really, but it does prove he got the heart of a winner & is a force to be reckoned with no matter where he lines up, & it says he's athletically talented as hell to come out & perform like that at this level. 3) Taysom was a very successful QB in college. So, we know he can play the position of QB. The guy was in the Heisman conversation until he got hurt. That's gotta count for something, right? But then there's the ol' "he can't stay healthy" thing the doubters like to throw out there. OK, fair enough. He's had some injuries. But as I recall we signed a QB to this team a few years back that literally still had his throwing arm in a F****** sling as he signed the papers, and he went on to change this franchise forever... I know, amnesia sucks. But I remember hearing the nay-sayers back then. I understand some fans hate when a player gets "hyped", because we've been burned a few times. Well, ok. And the truth is we don't really know how good Taysom is as a NFL QB. I don't know, you don't know, nobody knows. But just based on what we do know thus far, I think you'd have to agree there's slightly more positive evidence that's in favor of him being pretty damn good, than there is negative evidence that would indicate he's a bust. Besides, at the very worst, we've got ourselves a Guido Merkens 2.0 |

Julian Edelman was a successful college QB and wound up being a 7th round pick at receiver. I like Hill. He was a load of fun to watch last year. Sean doesn't know QBs that great IMO. Look at the draft picks at QB and backups he has picked up. Thankfully Drew is an ace in the pocket and stays healthy.
