Cam Meredith Ahead Of Schedule

Quote:

METAIRIE, La. -- During the first spring practice open to the media Thursday, the first pass thrown by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was caught by none other than Cameron Meredith.

The play itself was nothing special. It was just a passing drill with the receivers running routes against air and no defenders on the field. Meredith isn't participating in full-team drills yet.

But it was still a ground-breaking moment for a receiver who just returned to practice this week for the first time since he tore the ACL, MCL and meniscus in his left knee last August with the Chicago Bears.

It looks like he is moving really well. From that clip you can't se him favoring either leg or not cutting hard.

He makes a good point that many players have comeback from similar injuries like Jory Nelson.

Odds of him making a solid comeback are good.

He looks pretty smooth and comfortable. I like it!

I had to take another peek at the Meredith video ^^^^ .... he's cutting pretty darn well in those drills. By t/c I think he'll be 100%. Definitely ahead of schedule. Watch him make the Bears & Pace look like idiots.

Keep grinding.

I'm not expecting much even if he does make it the whole season. His success in Chicago was like Pryor's where he was open a lot because it didn't matter a lot.

Beast,

C'mon now ... this cat has size, speed & blocks well. Trust me, Sean Payton & his staff have a clear vision for Meredith in this offense. Much like they had with Kamara. Pre injury this guy was putting up serious numbers with Matt Barkley throwing him the ball. Don't forget who coached him in Chicago (Curtis J). If all goes as planned with rehab, we have a legit #2 WR threat.

BTW, don't see the Pryor comparison at all. Trust and believe :bng:.

You beat me to it, K. I was about to say the same things. He had already been slated to be the Bears' #1 WR this past season before he went down. This guy's got good size, speed, hands and route running ability in addition to being able to block down field. The ONLY question mark was his health and it is looking like that isn't going to be a factor at all. I really feel he'll have us forgetting all about Snead, Coleman AND Ginn by halfway through the season.
