-- I was in the same seat 3 weeks earlier when Hartley jacked his FG attempt from the exact same spot (kicking to Girod St.) and we lost to Tampa. He lined up, a 2nd time, after the Vikes coach tried to ice him... and I thought, "if he misses, we lose." It didnt occur to me for a moment that if he doesnt miss, we're going to a place no Saints fan every imagined. Before the ball went between the uprights, the confetti cannons went off, and the section behind the goalpost jumped up first, as if Elvis had walked in. I still cant believe it. I wont forget that night.

1. I'm sitting in my Terrace seat, again Girod St. side, just happy to be back, and happy the Saints didnt move, and happy to see, people, all of whom, I swear I know personally, sitting all around me. We're probably going to get torched by this Michael Vick As_ _ _ _ e, and the damn Falcons, but its great to be back. And Scott Fujita just ran down Vick! knocked the ball away. and we ALMOST got it deep in Falcons territory, but it went out of bounds. Oh well. Line up for the punt. Slow motion. I saw it, but I didnt see it until I heard it. BOOM. I saw the ball bounce. I still dont believe it. GLEASON!
-- Touchdown Saints! Unreal. The Falcons were stunned, and they were done. The crowd wouldnt stop. The Saints couldnt stop. (Devery around the end for another one) The City was still beat up, and i didnt know what to expect, but I walked around and around, just soaking up the amazing comeback and Win. I felt The Curse lift up and go out the Roof, from my seat. It was an amazing night, and a taste of things to come. New Orleans.

Right there with you, Mike. I have had the opportunity to visit many cities, at home and abroad, and New Orleans is still my favorite.

When myself and the Mrs travelled to New Orleans for pre-season game 2 in 2015 vs New England.

My better half says I pretty much led the "who dat" chant after the coin toss and Brees threw an absolute beauty of a pass to Cooks for a long TD.

The Dome went nuts and I've personally not heard a crowd that loud before.

I have never been to a game and only been to NO 1 time in 03 when we had a real bad ice storm in KY and electric was gone for over a week. I remember driving by the dome and since then it has been a goal of mine to make it to a game someday. I remember feeling like I was in a different world with how nice everyone I met was.

I'm not kidding, when those LB's got their target the hairs would stand up on the back of my neck.

They were just on another level! Nobody else could match them!

Hell Yeah, SaintFanQ. I know what you mean. You could JUST FEEL a Sack, a Fumble, and a Flattened QB coming. Somebody said, "We lived for 3rd and Long back then."

I have to add the Home Opener in 1988. Bernie Kosar and the Browns were serious Super Bowl contenders, and they could beat anyone on a good day.
But Cleveland had its own Curse, maybe even more heartbreaking than ours.

Bobby Hebert was on his Game, and our O looked as good as I'd ever see it up to that point. I think we still had Reuben Mayes, and of course Eric Martin.

Rickey, Sam, Swilling, & Meat- the Dome Patrol were still a nightmare to Offenses, but Kosar was on, also, and both Teams were shooting it out.

Ok, Quick, Name something very rare, which happened twice in this game?

- There were TWO Safeties. First one, Bruce Clark had Kosar's ankle in the grasp. In-The-Grasp was strictly enforced then, even though Clark was on his belly on the turf. I could see the Brown's point, when Coach Marty Schottenheimer (sp?) protested.

The 2nd one was no doubt. Browns were backed up to the Poydras St. Endzone, 3rd Down... Dome was INSANE ! Kosar should have taken a knee, and let their punter work. Instead, he drops towards the endzone to pass, and S Brett Maxie blindsided him, knocking the ball out of the back line for the second Safety ! DOME WAS INSANER. I think the Final Score was 28-21. It was Crazy Fun & a Celebration Parade all the way to the Quarter. You know how the streets sound, when the Saints win.

I snuck down to field level in the Astrodome before warmups, a year or so later, when the Saints were playing the Oilers, and saw Brett Maxie. I brought up the Safety, and got a very happy smile out of him.

The game's on YouTube. I guarantee you will be entertained, and those of you too young to remember Bobby playing, who have only heard the sh** talked about him, will gain a whole new respect.

Not to nit-pick that play happened at Tulane Stadium

Not bragging, but during the Mora years the Saints won every home game that I attended!

My first Saints home game was in Aikman's rookie year and the Saints blanked Dallas 28-0; I have seen them beat the Vikes & Tampa.

ALL THOSE GAMES MCCOWN WON COMING IN AS BREES!!!! THE MICKSTER HAD HIS #7 MCCOWN JERSEY CHANGE TO A #9 BREES WHENEVER HE WAS ON THE FIELD OF PLAY!!! THAT'S WHAT THAT EARPHONE HE WAS "CAUGHT" WITH WAS FOR!!! BREES HAS BEEN THE BACKUP!! I KNOW A FAMOUS PERSON WHO HAS TO REMAIN NAMELESS THAT HAS SOME MCBREES PHOTOS
