Re: Home Sweet Dome
My first game in the dome 2008 vs the Falcons. We won a tight one. My section kept singing "Who let them dogs fight" to a group of Falcons fans in Vick jerseys. It was glorious. Then a whole lot of people started singing When the Saints go marching in while exiting the dome. I was teary eyed

Re: Home Sweet Dome
Definitely my first game in 2007. Saints vs Colts. Game was a blow out, but I will never forget the feeling of being in the Dome and watching my team on the field. Been to a number of games since and have always had a great time, but nothing like the first game.

Re: Home Sweet Dome
There are several, but I'd say that the 2009-10 playoff game against Arizona and Kurt Warner was the best.

I'm pretty lit by the time I leave ......so they all kind of blend together! Every time we win is a great day for me.

Re: Home Sweet Dome
3. '88 Saints vs. Denver. Saints were rolling, and were the best we'd ever
been up to that point in history, but still there was a feeling that John Elway would torch us. Mora, who was just as conservative as Bum, opens up with a long pass- Bobby to Eric Martin, and the route was on. It was a 60 minute Who Dat Party in the Dome, and America found out we were for REAL. I'll always have a place in my heart for the Dome Patrol era Saints. 2. NFC Championship vs. the Vikings. Crazy Crazy Crazy game. I never saw anything like it. We were rolling, but so was Brett Favre, despite the beating our guys were giving him before and after the whistle. You can hate on Favre, if you like, but I have a ton of respect for him, and so did Sean Payton, as you can see on the video, when he said goodnight to #4 on the field. -- It really looked like a classic Saints Heartbreaker in the making, and then- Tracy Porter. -- I was in the same seat 3 weeks earlier when Hartley jacked his FG attempt from the exact same spot (kicking to Girod St.) and we lost to Tampa. He lined up, a 2nd time, after the Vikes coach tried to ice him... and I thought, "if he misses, we lose." It didnt occur to me for a moment that if he doesnt miss, we're going to a place no Saints fan every imagined. Before the ball went between the uprights, the confetti cannons went off, and the section behind the goalpost jumped up first, as if Elvis had walked in. I still cant believe it. I wont forget that night. 1. I'm sitting in my Terrace seat, again Girod St. side, just happy to be back, and happy the Saints didnt move, and happy to see, people, all of whom, I swear I know personally, sitting all around me. We're probably going to get torched by this Michael Vick As_ _ _ _ e, and the damn Falcons, but its great to be back. And Scott Fujita just ran down Vick! knocked the ball away. and we ALMOST got it deep in Falcons territory, but it went out of bounds. Oh well. Line up for the punt. Slow motion. I saw it, but I didnt see it until I heard it. BOOM. I saw the ball bounce. I still dont believe it. GLEASON! -- Touchdown Saints! Unreal. The Falcons were stunned, and they were done. The crowd wouldnt stop. The Saints couldnt stop. (Devery around the end for another one) The City was still beat up, and i didnt know what to expect, but I walked around and around, just soaking up the amazing comeback and Win. I felt The Curse lift up and go out the Roof, from my seat. It was an amazing night, and a taste of things to come. New Orleans. -- I am astounded at how often I get homesick for a city I have never lived in. |
