Re: If A Few Things Hit, Saints Pass Rush Could Feature The Kind Of Depth That Creates Better Matchups For Its Players
If we create something like the Jags last year (which is totally doable) we are a high speed freight train. Good luck stopping it. A pass rush with a legit shutdown corner and solid secondary. If Davenport delivers it's going to be fun to watch.

Don't expect Davenport to play like a two first round pick guy, but if he's even among the top three rookie defensive ends, it'll still be huge...
Then you throw in a year wiser, savvier, stronger, and recovered Trey Hendrickson who shows he can be a special pass rusher, plus... If Okafor can come back by the fifth game, fully recovered and can finish the whole season, that's one helluva a rotation opposite Cam Jordan... But it's still gonna take the interior defenders to up their games to 84+ grade performances, collapsing the pocket for the edge guys to finish... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

JP, you are a Saints football historian so you can appreciate the quote from the late Jim Finks when he said "it takes DL at least 2, 3 years to hit their stride". Trust and believe. |

If'n is a big possibility of a word, but IF we had Finks, we'd had two more Lombardi's under Brees' era; Finks built a great team and Mora, unchecked, destroyed it... |

Given what Jeff Ireland, Loomis and the rest of the front office brass have done in recent drafts, it’s hard to challenge their logic. Next stop, Super Bowl . |

Loomis is a yes man and a moron...
