Either we had no confidence in anyone behind Kamara or there is a plan to entertain shopping Ingram before he returns. I think it is the later. If a team is desperate enough they could over value him. Say it's a 2nd and another conditional pick, that would be hard to turn down IMO. Bundle those with something else and get back in the 1st. I just don't see us going into next year without a plan to get that 1st back.

Or, more likely, Payton wants to make sure all of his bases are covered. We learned a few years back that it's better to have more than enough options at RB rather than not having enough. Ingram is a proven commodity that fits the offense perfectly. It makes no sense whatsoever to weaken the team when we are clearly in a win now mode.

I would love for him to pick us to resign a free agent contract anyway. With Drews age creeping up we need a consistent running game to keep him from having to throw 35 plus times a game.
