I really like what I see from Cam Meredith (#81). And Ginn Jr is still fast as hell.

"That’s not to say the offense was toothless. Drew Brees met the defense’s challenge head-on in team drills at the end of the day, foiling a shutout by scoring deep with wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. against Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Obviously enjoying himself and the heightened level of competition, Brees taunted the defense on a victory lap around the field."

See I love that. A little rivalry in camp does great things for the level of competition.

Hope none of that is lost on Taysom Hill...

Lots and lots of weapons...

RB: Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara, Boston Scott, Shane Vereen/Terrance West

WR: Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn, Cam Meredith, Tre Smith

Very few teams can match that depth at RB or WR...

Don't know of any team that can match it at both positions...

Gotta stay humble, stay healthy...#shhhhh...

I think Brandon Tate could actually stick on the roster with the kick return experience.

I’ve been having this issue for a little while now. It stopped working for me a few months ago. Now when I copy and paste tweets they just show up as links. I can’t figure out what happened.

Re: 2018 New Orleans Saints Training Camp

Take One: Practice goes indoors

Wet fields forced the Saints to move practice indoors. For fans wishing to attend practice, their ticket for Wednesday is valid for Thursday...

Take Two: Participation Report

Ben Watson, Marcus Davenport, Shane Vereen and Kamrin Moore did not practice Wednesday. The Saints waived/injured Josh Smith and Eldridge Massington and placed Travin Dural on injured reserve. These were the corresponding moves to the signings of: Brandon Tate, Michael Floyd and Don Barclay.

Tate and Floyd were present at practice Wednesday. Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui officially came off PUP and practiced for the first time all camp.

Take Three: Plays of the Day

...Taysom Hill hit Dan Arnold on a deep out route during seven-on-sevens...

Kurt Coleman nearly picked off Brees early in team drills on a pass intended for Michael Thomas...

Woodrow Hamilton, who’s in the mix for the team’s fourth defensive tackle spot, helped himself when he batted down J.T. Barrett’s pass at the line of scrimmage...

Hill made his best throw of camp when he connected with Keith Kirkwood on a nine route on the sideline...

Sheldon Rankins has been battling David Onyemata for starting defensive tackle...

Take Four: Lutz stays steady

The Saints did not bring in a kicker this offseason to camp for good reason. Lutz has remained steady throughout camp. By my count, Lutz went 7-8 on field goal attempts with a long of 55 yards. His only miss came off a 53-yard attempt that went off the upright...

Take Five: Other Observations
  • Trey Hendrickson is quietly having a strong camp. He seems quicker off the snap and came very close to a sack Wednesday. With Hendrickson,
  • Cam Jordan, Alex Okafor and Davenport the Saints on the surface appear to have some quality depth at what’s been a vulnerable position for them in the past.

  • DeVante Harris nearly had an interception Wednesday.

  • Josh LeRibeus was back at left guard Wednesday. He also had a bad snap when he took some reps at center.

  • Natrell Jamerson had a PBU on the final team period.

  • Cam Meredith had an impressive back shoulder catch over P.J. Williams during individual drills. He also caught an out route from Hill. After a slow start, perhaps Meredith is getting comfortable in this offense.

Ouch don’t like Davenport and Watson out. We have been lucky on the injury front so far. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Wow - seeing you point that out just hit me, even harder when I scan the depth chart...

From all I’ve read and heard this Saints defense looks better at this point than it ever has. Several players, coaches, and media personnel have said the same.
I hope it’s not a matter of our offense not getting it done . Offense usually has the advantage at this point in camp.

I really like Arnold but apparently he just can’t block.

I wouldn't be concerned unless they miss several days, especially with Watson. Veterans tend to see more down days during camp.

Well, to be fair, he did just become a Tight End a few weeks ago; and in the NFL no less; let's give Coach Campbell and the PT guys a chance to work some magic...

Last couple of days ... I've seen explosion & burst off the line, even on his cuts. From the untrained eye, Meredith is close to being "himself" again. Strong, powerful route running WR.

Muhammad needs to step it up if he wants a roster spot. It appears that Hamilton is up for the challenge.

He's just gotta get that next level of confidence in his game...

Even if he starts slow out of the gates, we're completely loaded now at WR...

Well, as the late Mr. Jim Finks would say, if it comes down to two players, take the bigger one...

I'd prefer another bigger boy for the middle, especially for those cold games late in the year, on the goal line...

...

Maybe now that Woodrow is closer to home (played his college ball at Ole Miss), he explodes on the scene.
