|
Can you name this player?
Actually, just to prove I didn\'t make all that stuff up...
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2002/profiles/fisher_levar.htm Read it and weep. Notice they said nothing about an injury history. Could there be something to this guy after all? |
Can you name this player?
Wait, you weren\'t supposed to tell me chump. lol But look at my bio for James Allen in the DJ vs Fincher comparison thread. It says this almost exactly:

I\'m cautiously excited for three reasons. 1. He will be two years removed from the knee. Thats typically the time it takes to recover back to 100%. 2. He was an ascending player and a promising starter before the knee injury. 3. It appears Denny thought he was ready last year, so it may be that he\'s 100% by the start of 2005. All of the above statements are simply my fading memory of the 3 or 4 articles I read about him so take it for what its worth. |

there is a chance that fisherr could be a real steal for us.

Can you name this player?
Next time go ahead and answer yas, that\'s what it\'s all about. I admit I had to look it up too, but the college gave it away. I assumed there wasn\'t many Rice LBs on our roster. lol Okay, here\'s the next one:

Can you name this player?
Ok. Former Saint:
High School Big East/ACC All Northeast Team....USA Today Connecticut Player of the Year....senior year stats: 2,139 rushing yds and 25 TDs.....team captain....career totals: 4,541 yds and 53 TDs.... Academics Majoring in Child and Family Studies at Syracuse..... Stats ‘97 - 1 carry, 1 yd, 1.0 avg, 1 TD....’96 - 54 carries, 223 yds, 4.1 avg, 3 TDs....’95 - 62 carries, 223 yds, 3.6 avg., 5 TDs....’94 - 11 carries, 49 yds, 4.5 avg., 0 TDs....Totals: 128 carries, 496 yds, 3.9 avg, 9 TDs. Summary He is an outstanding prospect with a limited background at DS, but he is certainly exciting as an athlete. He only has 1 year of experience at DS, but he has made the most of it. His Indy numbers are outstanding, and although he is somewhat been perceived as a straightline speed guy, his SS of 3.94 indicates that he does have COD and the ability to adjust on the move. He is much more natural than one might think with his limited background, and he shows excellent range and cover abilities, especially in zone defenses. He is willing to come up vs. the run, and he has already developed into a good openfield hitter that will make some big plays. He flies to the football and appears to be very competitive and aggressive. He will need work in m/m cover situations, and he has not been asked to do a lot in terms of hips and turns and covering WRs. He certainly has the ability to improve in this area, and with additional experience, he will become more instinctive in the passing game, and get a better jump on the ball. He also has a excellent background as a special teams performer, which should more than take care of his paycheck on the NFL level while he is developing. This is a guy with a huge upside that could develop into an outstanding NFL DS, and at the very worst, he could be an NFL team\'s special teams captain, and a contributor in the secondary. Our guess is he will become the former and will be a steal on draft day for some lucky team. |
Can you name this player?
hahahahahahaha. Took some research, but Tesucky Jones right? Where did you get all that info? That was pretty deep for a draft pick from that long ago. If I am wrong, I reserve the right to edit this. lol
|
Can you name this player?
No need to edit, Whodi. It is indeed T-buck. I was hoping it might take a bit longer; I\'m glad you had to do a little checking. ;)
I don\'t remember where I found that info. I was trying to find something on Vaughn Johnson or Sam Mills, but I couldn\'t. If I find the link again, I\'ll send it to you. T-buck doesn\'t sound that bad there, does he? |
Can you name this player?
Well, a RB converted to S, you take what you can get from that. lol Now I have to dig one up.

Is it Brady Smith?
|
Can you name this player?
Damnit, I call you out, and you get it right. What a load. ;)
You have the floor, and I will be trickier next time. :P |
Can you name this player?
Man, Whodi, that last one was HARD.
The clue that got me there was the 9ers 1966 pick. Do you know that Steve Smith, who played DE, was drafted to play WR for the 9ers (at least according to the site I found). Once I had the last name, it wasn\'t TOO hard (though still hard) to figure it out. Ok, one more from me then. |
Can you name this player?
I started to take that part out, I see I should have. :P
|
Can you name this player?
Alright. Former Saint.
He was all-state in track and all-county in football and basketball as a senior at Great Neck South High School. He caught 104 passes for 1,819 yards in four years at the University of Iowa, led the Big 10 with 22.3 yard average per catch as a junior and was 3rd team All-American as a senior. He was drafted in the third round of the NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. That should be tough enough. I\'ll give you more if you give up. |
Can you name this player?
Quinn Early would me my first guess.
|
Can you name this player?
Damn, Whodi, you are too good! It is, in fact, Quinn Early.
I\'ve got to go, so you\'ll have to find someone else to play for awhile. Don\'t be too hard on them (it took me almost 10 minutes to figure out that it was Brady on that last one.) |
Can you name this player?
I figured Quinn was the only receiver we ever got form San Diego and took a guess. lol Okay, this is for whomever wants in:

Can you name this player?
I know this one!!! One of my favorite all time Saints, and maybe our best ever returner (though Lewis and Chad Morton have certainly challenged in recent years). A guy that played in our glory days of the late 80\'s and who we let slip away to Detroit...
I\'m not naming names, in case anyone else is interested, but Whodi knows I got it. Same first name as one of our current safeties. |
Can you name this player?
You gave it away you glory hound. lol Say the name and come up with someone else. And I thought that one would be hard.
|
Can you name this player?
Mel Gray.
OK - I\'m starting this off without a lot of stats b/c I want people to try and figure it out this way. If it\'s too hard I\'ll add more. This guy was a second round draft pick of the Saints, and maybe the ugliest back we\'ve ever had on the team. Until the Ricky era he was 6th all-time on the Saints rushing list, despite never rushing for 1,000 yards (his best year was 951). After leaving the Saints he returned to play on the team in the state where he went to college (state school). He also played on the same team as Mel Gray, though Mel was no longer there. Though he should long be out of the NFL, he was actually listed on the roster of the 2003, 10-6 Dallas Cowboys as the 3rd string RB. |
Can you name this player?
Okay, that wasn\'t too hard. I think he had lupis, loopis, however you spell it. I know who it is cause I was gonna use him before Mel. But I will leave some time for others to figure it out. Just don\'t stay at his motel anytime soon. ;)

Punk. :)

Damn, noone else guessing? I guess the game is dead. And such an easy one.
