Replacement for Mark Ingram ... Tre'Quan Smith!

That's right. The rookie WR is being groomed to possibly fill in as the second RB for the suspended Mark Ingram. Just heard it on NFL Network. He's getting a decent number of touches in recent practices.

Is it April? This feels like a April fools. How many RB's do we have atm..7? Leave Smith where he needs to be and that is receiver.

No. It's not a joke. The coaching staff knows where Tre'Quan needs to be better than us. It sounds like he is so special that he needs touches. Why not give him a shot at RB? Versatility is so important on a 53 man roster. The more players you have that can perform at different positions it creates more room for quality depth.

I think we learned a few years back that you cannot have too many RB's.

It was a report from Saints training camp on NFL Network. You can't link to TV. Although, it usually get repeated online somewhere. They showed Tre'Quan taking reps at RB in camp while doing the report.

Thanks.. looks like receiving out of the backfield mainly. In this instance, RB and WR are interchangeable.
