LB - Levar Fisher ??
not much out besides the usual numbers i see. he was the 4th LB taken in the 2002 draft in the second round. he seems to have plenty of talent. he simply has had multiple operations on both knees. the knee problems are described as chronic. a cie grant clone. maybe between them a few good downs of play could be had.

I didn\'t hear they were chronic, or that it was multiple operations. Thats not so good.

They need to go see james andrews--the guy is awesome for joint surgery.
if we could get these guys healthy..ie. get a decent medical staff, then we\'d have a good core..but if he had the surgery I think he did-he should be fine and dandy this year. |

I have this to add as far as medical staff goes. I work in Orthopedics. I have worked with with many fine MD\'s and have been involved with the care of many sports related injuries. Each one is different just like each player is different. One person may have a knee scope and be ready to play next week. Someone else may take six weeks. It is not always a question of tolerance for pain. You have to ask, What did they do with the scope. The scope is just a tool, but it is used as a catch phrase like xerox instead of copy. All that being said, I think Andrews is a great doctor but he will be the first to tell you he is not God. Some things just can not be fixed. Look at Bo Jackson. He saw Andrews and a host of other great docs. He still was unable to continue playing sports. The medical staff for the saints does a great job, all teams have players who have to stop playing early.

bo isn\'t a fair comparison as bo had a birth defect/congenital disorder...my brother had the same problem, so did a basketball player named charles smith who played for the spurs...the hip starts to slowly errode..atleast that is what the company line was.
your right though-it\'s about the person, the rehab, etc..but I will say this-i do think ala the clippers in basketball-some programs have better medical staffs than others and it shows on the field. |
