Re: Sean Payton believes his presence on competition committee gives Saints leg up on new rules
It only makes sense. I remember Steelers coach Bill Cowher saying almost exactly the same thing 30 years ago.

Re: Sean Payton believes his presence on competition committee gives Saints leg up on new rules
I still don’t get how the rules have changed. I didn’t think it was legal to hit helmet to helmet anyway. Are they talking about situations like the one in the Atlanta game where Kamara got hit? Is it a rule that pertains more to a running back?
I got it. Sounds like it’s illegal for any player to use his helmet on ANY part of another players body. This is going to be hell for lineman. The NFL is just making it easier and easier for the outcome of games to be manipulated. |

Re: Sean Payton believes his presence on competition committee gives Saints leg up on new rules
If the benefit of gaining better insight into NFL Rulebook by being on the committee is greater than time spent improving other team aspects - so be it...
Personally, I'd like Payton to attend the NFL workshop Ozzie Newsome attended on how to accumulate compensatory picks and draft with discipline... |

Re: Sean Payton believes his presence on competition committee gives Saints leg up on new rules
But this new catch rule does seem to have Payton's prints all over it as it's about as complicated as his playbook...

Re: Sean Payton believes his presence on competition committee gives Saints leg up on new rules
Does anyone have a short clip or a link of Payton explaining the differences between legal and illegal hits?
