Saints Release Brandon Coleman

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He was in doubt to make the squad with all the additions at the position. The only reason would be playbook familiarity, but barring a significant I jury wouldn't expect him back. Who knows though...

Re: Saints Release Brandon Coleman

The talent level at WR is so far ahead now that the only way I see him returning is next season if we can't afford the others after a Lombardi...

Then again, Payton's statement also serves as a kind of reference, endorsement to his work ethic, character for other teams that may be shopping...

He's a good blocker. I could see him back late in the season if we get dinged up.

Sean Payton agrees with you (starts around 1:37).

Sorry to hear he's injured. Like everyone else, I didn't think he'd make the team anyway. I see it shaping up like this:

1. Can'tGuardMike
2. T. Ginn junia
3. Tre Quan Rookie Sensation
4. The other Cam
5. The Flea
6. Maybe if someone's a great returner

I'm not so sure that the flea makes the roster. Some of these younger players have potential.

Re: Saints Release Brandon Coleman

WR-X (3) 13 - Michael Thomas, 81 - Cameron Meredith (RFA 2018), 87 - Brandon Tate (FA 2018),
11 - Tommylee Lewis, 18 - Keith Kirkwood (UDFA)

WR-Y (3) 19 - Ted Ginn, 10 - Tra'Quan Smith (R3, #91), 17 - Michael Floyd/80 - Austin Carr

KMajor and I discussed that the Tommylee Training Camp Spectacular is always a great show, but inability to return, rarely game-day active, why commit a roster spot?

Kirkwood was my sleeper, then we signed two veterans who could be the final WR roster spots; Kirkwood's got great hands and range, should make Practice Squad...

Payton remarked Floyd was heavy, but the talent is there; but Coach learned his lesson after spending a 1st round on Meachem who showed up - out-of-shape...

Carr looked like the next in a line of reliable slot WRs -Lance Moore, Willie Snead IV; but with the talent acquired, not sure Moore nor Snead makes this roster...

Josh Huff has talent, and looked like the best returning punts till Tate showed, but he's facing a pending two game suspension - we don't have time for that BS...

We have enough WR's to get 6 great ones. Like Scott said with Thomas, Meredith, TQ, Watson and Kamara how many catches ya goin get anyway.

At worst, Kirkwood is starting to look like a practice squad "lock". Coach Curtis will polish him up quickly.

I loved Coleman's size, and his size. Did I mention his size?
