I said a few weeks back that I thought the only way they would even entertain the idea of cutting Ginn would be if Tre Smith proved he could be the new deep weapon. I think he's proven that and more. Ginn has a full season in this offense and they talked often about how smart he is. You wouldn't know either of these things just judging him by this preseason. I don't think his job is nearly as safe as it was a few weeks ago.

It's healthy that the competition is this tight for positions 2-5/6; and with one cut down, suspect many late round trades on cut down day next week...

Smith, Ginn, Thomas, meridith appear to be locks. Lewis and Carr seem to be fighting for that #5 spot. I’m hoping we carry 6 but it’s doubtful wth the rbs we split out.

I'd be very surprised if Ted Ginn Jr is cut.
Up to this point, you simply have to be patient with Meredith. It takes a while to get back to game speed after tearing ACL's/MCL's. I'm certain coach Payton understands this. I like Tate on kick offs/punts. He's a saavy vet & makes good decisions back there. Just don't feel as comfortable with Tommy Lee back there. Lacks vision. |

Yeah I don't know if you cut Ginn at this point...
Someone will pick him up and I don't think we can have enough deep threat options especially if we get hit with injuries. Worse case we just take Bree's out and cut all the WR's. Put Hill in he'll just run the ball himself, lol. |
