I think they knew they had to let one of them go, and Dev was the only one they were able to get anything in return for. I agree he played better, but realistically, neither of them would probably see the field much this year, so letting the "better" one go in exchange for a pick is a pretty good deal.

I look at it from a different angle though ... Saints front office literally got something (7th rd draft pick in 2019) for nothing (UDFA).

Good Luck to Devaroe & the dawg pound... he had a solid camp.
