I was really bummed when he had that bad concussion a couple years ago. I liked what I saw from him in the very small sample size that season. Looked like he was primed to become a starter for a long time to come.. I could very easily believe that a scare like that one affected his play last year. If memory serves me I think Payton said it was the worst concussion he'd ever seen. I know that would stick with me for a while. I just hope getting benched made up his mind to put in the work to get back to being the player he's capable of being. Guess we're gonna find out pretty soon.

I like Douglas too, but I wonder if we have the necessary draft capital at this point to make a move. Unless we could throw in a player. I'd love to dump Vonn Bell off on someone. We'd be paper thin at safety but we already pretty much are, even with him here.. dude's like a mirage out on the field, you swear you see him but he isn't really there. Of course when I get to thinking about that I realize that no one in their right mind would take him off our hands. Sigh.

On another note, I still wish we'd found a way to keep Delvin Breaux around. I don't think he was done, I think he was another one who needed some new motivation.

I feel bad for Breaux. Really bad. That concussion Williams had though...it was pretty severe. It put him out for the entire season if I’m not mistaken. Personally, I wouldn’t have come back. I want to play with my kids. I wouldn’t take the gamble. I agree with you though, Williams looked really good before that. Last year...not so much. He had his moments though. I still believe a lot could be fixed by changing the scheme.

I wonder what it would take to get Douglas. A 5th? 6th? I’d do that.

Von Bell has been really good so far though. Surprisingly good.

I had similar thoughts on Breaux. It wouldn't have hurt to bring him in to training camp and see how he performed against others. At worst, he would have been good depth. Unfortunate for Ken because he played some good ball for us last year on those boundaries.

Oh well, it is what it is.
