Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

Upon confirmation of JG’s ACL I expect Lynch to reach out to Mickey for a trade. Since we clearly have the upper hand I think we can pick up a first. Thoughts?

Do they have any decent CBs/DBs?

If it happens, get back into the 1st Rd at a minimum.

Personally, no way we give up Teddy...dude is our future after Drew. He is our heir apparent.

Agreed. No reason to make this trade, if it is proposed, unless we get back in the first.

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

Does he want to play now for a bad team? Is he interested in staying in New Orleans even though Brees willl start for at least one more year? Personally, I don't see the 49ers interested. Plus, he's more valuable to the Saints this year, even if it's just one year, than any draft pick anyone could offer.

Just came on to post this
49ers first for Bridgewater

Not sure they would do it.
They won't win the superb owl so why taste a 1st on a one year rental

Teddy is our future

A 1st round this year and a 2nd next year?

What did Minnesota give for Bradford when Teddy went down?

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

Gotta tell ya I don’t see it happening. Payton said Bridgewater has been our #2 QB since week one because of how quickly he’s picked up the offense. I don’t see the 49ers giving up any high picks for a 13 game rental.

Teddy is going no place.

49ers better rally around C.J. Bethard.

Difference there is the Vikings had other peices to take a shot at the title
Makes no sense for the 49ers,

No way the 49ers give up even a 2nd with the way the NFC is stacked as of late, unless they're crazy.

Never say never, we have seen some crazy chit last couple of yrs with trades.
Personally, with the shape we are in on defense, I'd take a 1st than turn around and trade another team for a good DB and give them the 1st. Then I would be on the phone with Eric Reids agent and getting his butt down here because I am not sure Williams is gonna be good this yr. Someone said Minny broke his spirit and so far, I can't argue to much.

Marcus is fine but you have to question what Dennis Allen is doing with his game plan. Ken Crawley and PJ Williams were getting abused all over the field today. It was so bad for PJ, I was hoping we saw Lattimore cover their #2 and put Ken on their #1 (Julio) with safety help over the top.

Scheme is put in place to mask liabilities. It's up to Dennis Allen on figuring it out.

Lots to clean up on the back end. We don't defeat Cleveland last week if not for the Marcus Williams INT. He's fine.

I don't disagree. I was just being silly about on my last post, except the Reid part. Remember atlanta first drive, we were playing with a 2 deep safety. Why the hell did we go away from that??? Allen's lack of adjustment is getting disturbing. Not to mention, I just watched Seans presser, and he was talking about Hill of course, but he said you have to adapt to your players. REALLY!!! Tell DA that please!!

No way will San Fran offer a 1st but if they do we must turn it down

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

They could totally offer a 1. What else is out there? Nothing. Take it or leave it. Otherwise their season is done.

If we get a 1 for someone that never played take it. We just stole a first round pick. Probably a high one. Top 10.

It'd be funny if they picked up Kapernick.

I don't give a **** if they pick up Brett Favre. We have a legit starter on the bench. Give us a 1 or forget it. There is nobody else out there worth a crap.

Their season is probably done anyway.
McKinnon is out, their receivers have been inconsistent, and they just aren't that good on either side of the ball.
No way they catch LA, and a WC is a long, long shot

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

I guess it’s too early for the 49ers to completely throw in the towel on the season. Maybe try to trade for Tyrod Taylor now that Mayfield is the man in Cleveland. That way you’d still look like you’re trying to piece something together even though you know you won’t win with Tyrod.

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

Yeah this won’t happen. 49ers were not a great team before and a qb won’t change that. No way they will give a #1 for a one year loan. Well I say that but the saints blew their wad on Rickey Williams.

I would not be so sure. Crazy trades happened before the deadline. We have a legit QB and a legit RB. Both just collecting dust. If we lose Brees we are done anyway so why not. MI, great to have but we are getting it done without him and he will not be here next year.

Rather not part with either but if some stupid trade is on the table DO IT. Take the picks and reload. We don't need either one to win right now and our picks is where we make money.

This...and I'll take things a step further....the strong safety play has been horrendous so Williams is not as free to utilize his skill set. Like you said, it's up to Allen to put the players in the best position to succeed.

I'm starting to miss Vaccaro...Coleman is just collecting a check and Bell looks lost most of the time when he is on the field.

Remember J Byrd was a ball hawking fool in Buffalo, then comes to NO and does much to nothing or to an extent Malcolm Jenkins couldn't seem to get any picks in our defense, then goes to the Eagles and gets a lot? Now add Kenny (who I thought was too inconsistent here) Vaccaro who is playing good ball up in Tennessee.

At some point, we are going to have to start blaming the defensive scheme for safeties not being able to have any impact in the passing dept.

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

Why would a non-contending, building team give away their most crucial asset, a likely high pick, that they need to get where they want to be?

Also, if we're to believe the Saints are contenders, why trade away your insurance policy for a 39yo QB that is now, reluctantly, rushing for TDs?

I'm not a Bridgewater fan, but the team is vested with this guy for this season and it's too early to give up on this season...

If anyone gets traded for a 1st it will be Michael Thomas. You read here first.

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

No way Thomas is going anywhere that's just BS. I think we need Eric Reed and a second round pick turn Williams into a corner back we have a good back up with T. Hill. Try and unload PJ Williams and Crawley not sure we can get anyone for them also bring back Authur Maulet

Supertek 09-24-2018 07:06 AM

Re: Saints to trade Bridgewater to 49ers?

Payton needs to consider bring in a new defensive coordinator we have done so in the past. I think the Bye week would be a good time to get someone in here and give him a couple of weeks to get ready. I think the players are motivated and want to win. Allen has failed and his approach has not worked we have seen it ever since he has been here and everyone has turned a blind eye to it. What if we could get Jim Leonhard or Perry Fewell I think something has to be done.

They have a young CB Elijah Lee that looks like an upcoming player. Get him maybe and a first or second pick?

IT WASN'T LONG AGO THAT THE SAINTS WERE GOING TO GIVE A FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICE FOR THE QB THAT COULD POSSIBLY GIVE THE SAINTS A FIRST ROUNDER. IT'S THE CIRCLE OF LIFE, OH WAIT IN THIS CASE IT'S THE HUDDLE OF LIFE!!
