I know this sounds crazy...
I watched and rewatched the record breaking play several times last night. I was so happy for Brees and the team when it happened! However, even on first look it seemed, well, almost staged. I still feel the same when I watch the play in Minnesota from last year. It just doesn't seem like everyone is giving full effort.
I know this sounds crazy, and I don't want to take away from Drew's phenomenal record. I just can't shake it and I'm seeing more and more plays that seem "funny", like something just isn't right. Even in the Panthers game the other day. On the final drive, Christian McCaffrey made a "first down" that was a yard short, and there was no measurement or second look. Then the TV coverage quickly cut off. I've looked for that play again on youtube and can't find it. I want to be wrong about this. ![]() |
