Saints Tailgating Party!!

Ok--this is going to be fun! Training Camp opens on Saturday, July 23rd--A couple of us here have decided to hold, not a rally, but a Tailgating Party @ the Governor's Mansion that day. We want to show the legislature, the Governor, Mr. Benson, and the NFL that we love this team and we want them to stay!
Please make the pledge to be there--bring your families, your friends! I'm going to try to get some restaurants to provide some food, we can bring ice chests full of water, soft drinks, and (maybe) beer--we'll party like we're about to walk into the Dome to watch some Saints Football!

Let's make some gumbo, some po-boys, everything! I'm going to try to get a jazz band there and maybe we can play some clips of Jim Henderson (Hakim dropped the ball!) and play some football and just pass a good time the way Saints fans can!

Obviously this has not been set in stone. We are working out the details as this idea just kind of came about and we decided to act on it. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Also if anyone would like to help us organize this event it would be GREATLY appreciated.

The bigger turnout the better, so tell all your Saints friends to bring their families and tailgating gear.

Let's make this happen!!!

keepoursaints,

Try to contact the powers that be to get them to cover the event for the website. I've read here before and know that some of the writers work for newspapers and using the home page would be good publicity.

It's worth a shot. They may know some people to help come out.

That's a great idea. I might change one thing - the venue. This needs to be done on Airline Drive, and not at the Governor's Mansion.

newshound if you have any idea of who I need to contact that would be VERY helpful and I would appreciate that greatly.

WhoDat I don't think it's going to take place at the Gov's mansion, but that was thrown out as an idea just because the backdrop may help get the point across. I will def. be coming out to the camps with signs, shirts, stickers, etc. but the reason we thought about the Gov's mansion as well was to get the Baton Rouge and non-N.O. Saints fans involved more. I don't have a problem with doing at the camp either, but we thought getting BR news media to cover it would maybe turn more heads because we know there are tons of Saints fans in N.O., but it seems like the media tries to make it look like everyone outside of N.O. could care less and I don't think that's true.

Anyway as we get more organized I will keep you guys posted and will keep updating my site with the new info, so check it out. Also if you want to help spread the word check out gear I put on the keepoursaints.com site or just spread the word in the forums.

Thanks for the input guys!!

That's what we were thinking. We need as many non-N.O. residents' attention as possible. Of course all of you from N.O. are invited, so please attend if you can! We need The Advocate and local BR news stations to cover it for Lafayette, Shreveport and others to hopefully catch wind of it.

I'm sorry I don't have any more details but I will post them as soon as they come available. If you can make it please attend.

I think there's a contact us link at the top of the page to the right, you can also send to webmaster@___.com at any site and someone usually can answer.

But try webmaster@blackandgold.net and see what happens.

Does anyone else know what to do?
