From the ICYMI Department...
New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens series history The Saints and Ravens have played six times with Baltimore holding a 5-1 edge. The clubs first met on September 29, 1996 at Baltimore’s Memorial Stadium in the club’s first season in their new home after previously playing in Cleveland, a 17-10 Ravens win. New Orleans’ only win in the series was a 37-25 victory at Ravens Stadium on December 8, 2002. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Ravens defeated the Saints 34-27 at the Mercedes- Benz Superdome on Monday, November 24, 2014. Baltimore is the only club that Saints QB Drew Brees has not defeated as a starter and that Head Coach Sean Payton has not beaten. So it's not just a Drew thing... Oh, and they’ll have two rookies starting on the O-Line.

Re: Saints at Ravens Game Day Thread
I get that, but, here's my take - I'd love, love, to exorcise some demons today...
But I'd rather win those divisional, conference games more... This is a game for our running game and defense to step up - Big Time... |

Re: Saints at Ravens Game Day Thread
Several of the Saints’ inactives were known since earlier in the weekend. Andrus Peat and Taylor Stallworth stayed in New Orleans due to their injury situations. Jermon Bushrod will sit this one out to be with his family following the tragic loss of his infant daughter. Keep him and those close to him in your prayers and thoughts. Other inactives today include edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and offensive lineman Will Clapp. The Saints again are running just three deep at edge rusher with Cameron Jordan, Marcus Davenport, and Alex Okafor pushing Hendrickson off the gameday active roster. Saints right guard Larry Warford will play despite missing a practice with a back injury.
The only player definitely known to be inactive was starting left guard Alex Lewis, who was held out of practice all week dealing with a neck injury. There was a surprise report Saturday afternoon that the guy expected to help replace Lewis, starting right tackle James Hurst, would miss this game with a back injury. This will be the case, so the Ravens will be starting two rookies at left guard and right tackle. Starting cornerback Marlon Humphrey will also miss this game with a thigh injury suffered in practice on Thursday. The Ravens recently saw cornerback Jimmy Smith return from a suspension to start the year, and he’s been one of their best defenders over the last few years when healthy. So the Saints don’t really gain a weak link to target here.

Re: Saints at Ravens Game Day Thread
Don't know why...really can't explain it...but rookies always seem to have a coming-out-party versus the Saints... Maybe it's because our team's success is very much predicated on preparation and there's little film when these rookies geaux off... May need to get a bucket of chicken or something, don't know, but rookies seem to really shine versus the Saints... |
