I was just glad they didn't bring in Jackson and go for two! :)

Vonn Bell is terrible at cover 2. He always has been. That was the reason we signed Kurt Coleman. So why do we call a cover 2 on the play where the Ravens scored at the end?! I mean, I guess at a certain point you have to make the play call that you feel is right regardless of personnel.

And how about a little love for Cameron Tom. It wasn’t always pretty, but he wasn’t a total liability.

That looked like Lattimore should have carried him further up field instead of playing the shallow flat so close to the LOS. Bell should have gotten over but Lat needs some blame there...

Allen needs to stop calling zone defense. The only thing we do well is play cover 2 man... Stick with that. We get into these 2min defenses and all I see is zone across the board.

I was having flashbacks of Daunte Culpepper doing that to beat us years ago.

Perfect football weather.

got a great weather site for ya as it relates to NFL weather...

Sorry if you were already aware of it. Just wanted to pass it along. I realize that for at least 8 games a year it is not a concern for Who Dat Nation!

Exactly. I don't think Allen is the issue. I actually think he is pretty good. Has some flaws, like late drives, but he has done alright in my opinion. We do need a Number 2, no truer words

By the way, Vikings CB Xavier Rhodes sprained his ankle today... Just a little note looking ahead to next week.

Exactly, bring in Kurt Coleman for Cover-2 because, you know, he can cover and you play him in the box...

Then you expect Vonn Bell to exchange and pick up Lattimore's receiver as Lattimore takes the flat, as he should, WTF did you expect DA?!?

Payton had better get an opposite CB and these Safety assignments fixed this week or we're going back to Minnesota in the playoffs!!!

Yep. He's still got to learn to use that big body to box-out and force defenders to come around - that's on Dan Campbell and Ben Watson to coach that up...

But he could be a difference play-maker in the stretch if he can get those skills going...

Game Balls Geaux To:

Drew Brees - not only did he bust over the 500 Career PaTD landmark, but also in elite of elite company in beating every NFL team in his career...

Alex Okafor - Man, did Oak ever bring the pressure today consistently from his side today, including either blocking or altering pass arcs by Shane Falco...

Taysom Hill - Okay, just think where we'd be if we'd cut him after that terrible pre-season game after many had suggested; now this is Good Payton at his best, bringing a QB along to game speed...

Honorable Mention - it was good to see some aggressiveness, feistiness from Mr. Marcus today, even if one play cost us a goal-line INT...

Honorable Mention - if not having Peat didn't have me worried, losing LeRibeus made me sick, but Cameron Tom did an admirable job against some notable d-linemen...

Honorable Mention - DeMario Davis is still making some mental mistakes, but, man, did he makes some big plays when needed, clean it up DeMario!

Honorable Mention - To New Orleans Own Chris Meyers who put the timely Kibosh-jinx on Ravens kicker Justin Tucker to tie the game with a PAT - Never Forget Where You Came From Chris!!!

Re: Saints at Ravens Game Day Thread

I think 95% of the problems on our defense have to do with the 2nd CB. A think a lot of what looks like bad scheming/safety assignments is caused by us overcompensating due to not having that 2nd corner. I hate to say it, but Crawley looks bad. I've never been sold on him. Even last year when people were cheering his play, I've just never liked what he's brought to the table. Last year, we got by with him.. but this year teams have figured out how to exploit him. We need to either go out and get someone, or give Justin Hardee(who is very raw, but I just think he passes the eye test) a try.

That play that Brees did against the rush was incredible. He found someone at literally the last moment.

I think Allen needs some help ... a defensive consultant. I know Nolan is focusing on the linebacker crew but Dennis could use the input. That last scoring drive by Flacco was far too easy. There is still a lot of confusion and TDs (high school wide open) given up on the back end each week.

Maybe Rezburna is available.

Saw a tweet from Underhill stating that we rushed 3 men on D and gave up 2 TD's. That type of defensive philosophy will eventually get you beat.

On the flip side, I thought the linebacker group played possibly their best football today. I'm not sure if the Ravens didn't trust their own running game or they had a lot of respect for our run D. Saints run D continues to impress.

Let's be honest, besides Lattimore our secondary is a complete mess.

PJ loses his head in game situations

Crawley can't cover fast receivers and can't read down/distance and blitz package

Vonn Bell is a liability all around

Marcus Williams is having a rather forgettable Sophomore season

Kurt Coleman - ugh....

That being said, we find ways to win. If the secondary could actually play together we'd be unstoppable.

That's why I'm not blaming DA, personally. I find we lack talent at CB

Your last sentence is why I'd like to get Peterson or a number 2 CB

Blitzing a better CB and leaving Crawley alone on an island in one-on-one coverage and you don't blame DA?

And the dumb*ss called that more than once?!? Even this monkey learns after the first electro-shock banana experience...

The reason why we need a talent like Peterson, to match Lattimore, is too offset this kind of head-scratching schemes...

no, KC is not a starter, IMHO

I do blame DA for the late collapses...that is becoming a trend that I attribute to him

"DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED" BACK TO 2009 SAINTS VS WASHINGTON
as the Skins lined up for a 23-yard chip shot field goal from Shaun Suisham. He was a perfect 3-3 for the day. Amazingly enough, he pushed it wide right.
