You’re right about that. We don’t have someone who can excel in that role.

Which is why I’m up for KC getting a shot. Look his coverage issues werent all his fault.

All I know is that the Vikings will test Ken early and often.

I see a player who is mentally fractured now. Hope he proves me wrong on Sunday.

So, from what I understand, and I could likely be wrong because I’m no expert on the Vikings offense... in 3 WR sets the Vikings lineup with Diggs and Treadwell on the outside and Thielen in the slot.

Obviously, we put Lattimore on an island against Diggs. I think Treadwell is just mediocre enough that Eli Apple, with limited familiarity of our defense, should be able to handle him.

The terrifying matchup will be Thielen vs PJ Williams on the inside. Oh boy, that is not going to go well.

Why not double the slot with Bell, or where ever Thielen lines up?

Can that work, Rez?

I’d actually like to piggyback on this and see what Rez thinks the best coverages would be against the Vikings. Their O-Line is kind of a mess right now so a lot of double A-gap zone blitzing will probably be Dennis Allen’s M.O.

Hmmmm. I don't recall that. I'm not saying you are wrong. He definetely tries to track deep balls when QBs throw his way on fade routes and he is pretty good at it.
I agree with the point that he doesn't have the quick hips to be elite. Maybe Eli Apple will be a stud and we'll never see Crawley again. But whenever he's on the field they gonna test him. So we'll find out one way or another. He reminds me a little of Dave Waymer. Average athleticism with good hands.
