Re: Happy Birthday, New Orleans Saints!

On this date, in 2009, I got married. it was my Wife's idea to do it on this date as she is a real, die-hard Saints fan. So much so that I have seen cups fly across the room (I truly did not know how much of a fan she was and has become)
All we asked was a wedding gift of a Lombardi Trophy...they delivered.
We went to New Orleans and will never forget the sheer joy as we piled out of Broussards into a sea of happiness. Thank you New Orleans, the Saints and it's people. You really put the icing on the cake. A huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY from us both.

Well we went Pro but we didn't exactly play like Pros right away.
However it's been a crazy journey never the less.

$5 ticket prices expected. Was that a lot in '66?

I would think so.

According to the Inflation calculator, it equates to $38.96 today.

Source - > $5 in 1966

To put it in perspective, the average yearly income in 1966 was $4,938.00.

Our first owner Robert Meacum(sp?) was an oil man and that's why our colors are black and gold. Black gold......
