Yeah PJ has really stepped up..

Re: PJ Williams - Thank You

He should earn all our respect at this point. Is it because he is playing the nickel now? He may thrive well in this role. Anyone watching Apple this game ?

Re: PJ Williams - Thank You

He played his best game as a Saint today, no question. Really proud of him and happy for him too. He went through a lot of adversity his first 2 years and has taken a lot of lumps since. But he comes to play, and he really brought it today. Hope to see more and more of it as his confidence grows. As K major would say, keep grinding.

PJ was fantastic. Great to see him go through adversity and keep grinding.

The big thing is he did it covering Cooks. Hats down to P.J.

Apple had a good game too; but PJ was on a totally different level than either Apple/Lattimore... Not taking ANYTHING away from those guys though!

Re: PJ Williams - Thank You

Seems like last week gave PJ the confidence boost he needed. That must have been his best game as a pro.

Apple looked quietly improved from last week. He plays hard it seems like.

Lattimore, they just don't throw it to his side.

So PJ shook off the funk, Lattimore almost always good, and Apple is improving. How did Goff get 400 yards and 3 tds on us? (Edit I’m not being a smart ass)

Plenty of holding on our D-line is the main reason. Makes it impossible to create pressure. There were multiple instances were Jordan had an arm around his neck or Henderson got pulled to the ground etc.

Gotta give it to them guys, that’s a REALLY good offense to go against. Got mor crucial stops than they were able to produce.

We’re the better team

Is Kupp like a slot receiver?

Precisely.

Sean Payton just stated last week that he can tolerate a guy who gets beat physically but not mentally. PJ is a guy who has a short memory. Always moves on to the next play.

He performed well today.

PJ stopped Cooks twice in two huge situations. He performed very well when needed!

I was in awe of how he played today! Good on him and good on the Saints coaches for staying with him through the difficult times earlier. I admit I was one of those that wondered WTH they saw in this guy. Guess that's why Payton doesn't call me for advice! :)

Same can be said for the Rams, Chiefs, Vikings, Ravens, Bengals, Steelers & Green Bay.

Speaking of corners getting LIT up ... here is a GIF of Marcus Peters (vs Mike Thomas) on yesterday.

Watched the game again. P.J. was looking for the football in this game. That long throw to Cooks, P.J. played that marvelously. Turned his head around and never left the sight of the football. Nice adjustments in his game. Coaches must have helped him work on his weaknesses.

HOW THE SAINTS WON THE GAME

Score 35-35 and the Saint finally got the ball back the crowd started yelling

"Who Dat say they gonna beat them Saints?"
"Who Dat say they gonna beat them Saints?"
"Who Dat say they gonna beat them Saints?"
"Who Dat say they gonna beat them Saints?"
"Who Dat say they gonna beat them Saints?"
"Who Dat say they gonna beat them Saints?"

That was when both the offense and the defense took over the game again.
It was around 11:00 minutes left in the 4th quarter when a fire was lit under their asses. :o

That play pissed me off. Glad he got his head around, but he damn near let Brandin Cooks go up over him to make that catch. He should have picked it, but based on his previous play, I can’t complain. He had a good game.

But the D line is....and coupled with the LB play, we are making teams one-dimensional. As the Saint's learned during the string of 7-9 seasons, big passing numbers don't = wins, even with the GOAT on the field. We have tough games remaining but likely won't face another Goff until the NFC title game.

Re: PJ Williams - Thank You

Saints D stat worth noting ...

Only 2 penalties
Saints D held the Rams to 3 of 8 on 3rd down.
Saints D held the Rams to 0-2 on 4th down.

Against that Rams offense, I'll take it.

Don't forget the turnover late in the 2nd Q that led to 7 pts.

The last legit Saints "bend/don't break"secondary that came up with key stops and/or turnovers turned out alright :p.
