I may have been a bit hasty to judge

But I will take the licks for it. Great game PJ! You came to play today, well done sir. Now lets just keep doing it.

Your not by yourself. I was cussing out Payton all through the first half of last game even after he caused the fumble. The pick 6 shut my mouth though. I have confidence in him now. I though he could've been called for PI until Rams did our receivers the same way 2 plays in a row.

I still think it'll be touch n go w pj the rest of the year. He had a good game today but hes consistently inconsistent. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

Yea. After the first half of last Sunday’s game he’s really been making some plays. Hopefully he’s over the hump. We are a legit team and that was a great win. There is something to be said for stalling out for a bit against a team like the Rams and winning anyway .
If we had Davenport to bring pressure today I really don’t think it would have been close. When pressured Goff is an interception waiting to happen.

Thinking the same thing. You hold leads by making the QB hurry into mistakes or putting him on the ground.

PJ is getting better each game. His confidence level is going up each game and the better the pass rush the better any slot CB will be. He is by far the best tackling CB we have and maybe the best in the secondary.

he might not be a outside corner but he can play the nickel just like P Robinson. I must admit, I thought he would be better playing safety but to defend the pass against a burner like B Cooks I am eating crow.

I said the same thing last week...that he might be better suited to play safety.

PJ was close to the plays in previous weeks. Now he is getting the pass breakups. Slot corner seems to be his comfort zone for sure.

Considering his body of work, we were absolutely right to question his position on this team.

BUT, he came to play last night. And in big ways. That was no fluke.

I wonder how much Apple has helped

That Rams team we just defeated have 3 ELITE WR's & we were down a man rushing (Davenport) the passer.

The secondary is what it is. Get a few turnovers (Anzalone), a key stop (PJ Williams on 3rd down) is about all we can expect.

I will say, this team will get better on the back end. Still a lot of football left.

Keep grinding.

With the passing rules the way they are now, salary cap, unless you have an outstanding draft of defensive backs (like the Packers just had) you're not gonna have three elite CBs on one team...

Still early with Apple, but the change of scenery may help; need to let him settle in, get comfortable, show all his sides to his teammates, then see if blends with the team chemistry...

P.J. was a first round talent; had some maturity issues; was starting for us and played well until a series of unfortunate injuries limited his development; so factor that evenly when passing judgement...

I'm holding off until we see how he does in a few more games. If he continues this trend of playing fairly well in the slot then we got lucky.
