This is a guy who hasn't been able to secure a job, despite so many teams around the league needing receivers. He's had a handful of workouts with some of those very same teams and nothing has come of it. Most guys in his position get jobs, or at least training camp invites on their reputation alone. The fact that he hasn't is, to me, very telling.

I won’t dispute his diminished abilities. I didn’t pay much attention to him in recent years. He has had offers though. I know the Ravens offered him something in the ball park of 3 years/$21 million and he turned it down. He’s looking for a one-year deal and at this point probably just waiting for a contender.

Arnold didn't come close to catching the one ball last night, and i dont think Meridith even got a look. I wonder if Meridith is a slow learner of the playbook or if he just doesn't run correct routes or get seperation.

You'll get no argument from me on your assessment of Dak. But I look at a guy like DeAndre Hopkins, who had complete and utter garbage QB's for years, and was routinely double covered because he was the only legitimate threat on the field. He still put up great numbers year after year. I know Dez is older, but his decline started when he should have still been in his prime.

I'm not saying I won't root for him if he is signed, but I personally think he's done.

If he is signed and catches a few taking some of the pressure off Thomas, he’ll be doing more than Carr/Meridith... So I’m all for it; as long as it’s a cheapish one year deal

He’ll get 1 on 1 coverage here and it’ll likely be against CB2’s and CB3’s. He’s going to kill their asses on those slants and back shoulder fades. Great for the red zone. I’m optimistic. We don’t need him of course. He’s just another weapon. We can’t pretend like he isn’t better than Carr or Meredith.

You're right, I forgot about the offer from the ravens. But he also flew to Cleveland practically begging for a job and walked away with nothing. He made it pretty clear he wanted to sign with them, and they need all the help they can get.

All I see is an incredible talent who's production dropped as soon as Romo left the building.

In regards to securing a job, I wouldn't play for the Browns either. :D But seriously - it sounds like Dez was waiting for the right opportunity, not just money.

And who knows, maybe Sean asked him to hang on a few weeks...:bng:

I totally forgot about Cleveland so it’s all good. He did walk away from them without an offer.

Plus we can't continue to overuse AK41 and 13 much more. Too important later in the season when we face division opponents in 4 of 6 games.

But he did want to play for the Browns lol. He was all over social media talking about his visit in the days leading up to it.
