Interesting

Hopefully just looking and no injury concerns.

Like I said in the Roster Outlook thread, it doesn’t look like the Cameron Meredith experiment is going to pan out. We need someone to take that #3 WR spot. Dez as a big slot WR could be intriguing.

Hard pass.

He could do well for us down the stretch. Meredith looks done

Re: Dez Bryant coming for a workout

I thinks it's a win win. We get another weapon who is more then capable of helping us right now and we get to piss off Cowboys fans.

This makes us unstoppable in the red zone.

Hard pass on Brandon Marshall.

I think you’ll see Thomas in the slot way more. Dez doesn’t move around well. He’s an outside receiver. Slants. Back shoulder fades. Jump balls. That’s Dez.

You’re right Rez. MT has taken a lot of snaps from the slot this season and he’s doing lots of damage there. It’ll allow more flexibility.

Brandon Marshall coming in too
Sounds like they want a big body red zone threat

Another strong big body could make this offense UNSTOPPABLE!

Insurance policy. A bad attitude redirected to winning a SB is a good thing. There would be no more drama.

I don't think the other WR's are doing badly. I just truly think nobody can guard Mike. I mean, I would look at Mike, Kamara and old man Watson until somebody stopped them. Every team wishes they had three options like that.

Have you seen much of his play the last couple of years? All I see is a guy who has a very limited route tree, whose ability to create separation has severely diminished. He was never a fast guy, but he's even slower now. He doesn't consistently win 50-50 balls anymore, which was one of his strengths in his prime.

This is a guy who hasn't been able to secure a job, despite so many teams around the league needing receivers. He's had a handful of workouts with some of those very same teams and nothing has come of it. Most guys in his position get jobs, or at least training camp invites on their reputation alone. The fact that he hasn't is, to me, very telling.

I feel like it was more of the QB he was playing with. Dak Prescott is a very pedestrian QB.

I won’t dispute his diminished abilities. I didn’t pay much attention to him in recent years. He has had offers though. I know the Ravens offered him something in the ball park of 3 years/$21 million and he turned it down. He’s looking for a one-year deal and at this point probably just waiting for a contender.

Arnold didn't come close to catching the one ball last night, and i dont think Meridith even got a look. I wonder if Meridith is a slow learner of the playbook or if he just doesn't run correct routes or get seperation.

You'll get no argument from me on your assessment of Dak. But I look at a guy like DeAndre Hopkins, who had complete and utter garbage QB's for years, and was routinely double covered because he was the only legitimate threat on the field. He still put up great numbers year after year. I know Dez is older, but his decline started when he should have still been in his prime.

I'm not saying I won't root for him if he is signed, but I personally think he's done.

Re: Dez Bryant coming for a workout

If he is signed and catches a few taking some of the pressure off Thomas, he’ll be doing more than Carr/Meridith... So I’m all for it; as long as it’s a cheapish one year deal

He’ll get 1 on 1 coverage here and it’ll likely be against CB2’s and CB3’s. He’s going to kill their asses on those slants and back shoulder fades. Great for the red zone. I’m optimistic. We don’t need him of course. He’s just another weapon. We can’t pretend like he isn’t better than Carr or Meredith.

You're right, I forgot about the offer from the ravens. But he also flew to Cleveland practically begging for a job and walked away with nothing. He made it pretty clear he wanted to sign with them, and they need all the help they can get.

All I see is an incredible talent who's production dropped as soon as Romo left the building.

In regards to securing a job, I wouldn't play for the Browns either. :D But seriously - it sounds like Dez was waiting for the right opportunity, not just money.

And who knows, maybe Sean asked him to hang on a few weeks...:bng:

I totally forgot about Cleveland so it’s all good. He did walk away from them without an offer.

Plus we can't continue to overuse AK41 and 13 much more. Too important later in the season when we face division opponents in 4 of 6 games.

But he did want to play for the Browns lol. He was all over social media talking about his visit in the days leading up to it.

Hang on there....

Bryant left town without a contract on Friday, and the two sides did not come close to an agreement. Bryant is seeking a one-year "prove-it'' deal and wants to play for a contender. But the asking price may be too high for the Browns. In April, Bryant turned down a three-year, $21 million offer from the Ravens.

The three-time Pro Bowler will remain on the Browns' radar, but they're not expected to sign him anytime soon.

Obviously I'm not gonna change your mind bud, and you're not gonna change mine. All we can do is hope it works out if he does end up signing.

This reminds me, I remember thinking yesterday, why in the hell in that moment of needing a 3rd down completion, would you trust to throw the ball to Arnold? But this is also part of why we need another consistent threat that can catch. Adding Dez may put us more in line with teams like KC.

Coming in for a workout is fine

long as he leaves when he’s done!

Re: Dez Bryant coming for a workout

Oh **** no. This is a good locker room but it’s full of young players who haven’t learned how to handle success. There have already been some rumblings about Kamara and Thomas’s antics. I think they are at a point where they have a road to choose. Become a distraction or embrace the success and become a man. Bryant isn’t going to help the situation.
Hell I thought the cell phone thing was hilarious after the win when I found out it was a flip phone. He’s just getting more and more vocal.
We don’t need Bryant here. I think he’s a selfish me first player who may not even have anything left.
