Cie healthy, and playing WLB
Saints | C. Grant Currently Healthy - from www.KFFL.com
Wed, 25 May 2005 23:16:32 -0700 Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints LB Cie Grant (knee) has been participating at the first two weeks of the Saints' coaching sessions without any health issues. Grant is hoping this is the year he finally battles through any injuries. "I'm hungry right now, and I think it's pretty much a do-or-die situation for me. I think my back is really against the wall," said Grant, who spent last season on injured reserve. He has been troubled by a chronic left knee injury. Head coach Jim Haslett said he still has high hopes for Grant. The team has also moved Grant from middle to weakside linebacker this year to reduce the wear and tear on his body and also because they drafted MLB Alfred Fincher in the third round of this year's NFL draft. |

RE: Cie healthy, and playing WLB
If I were a betting man, and I am , I'd put money down that Grant won't be healthy come September. The guy is yet to make it out of camp. We'll see I guess. It's good news to hear that he is currently doing well. Maybe his biggest strength coming out of college was his versatility. He was fast, able to cover well, and could play numerous positions. We'll have to see what all the injuries have done to his knee and how that effects him in coverage and speed.

This is Mike's article. I mean I guess that's good news. They can't operate on it though and we'll see how far "playing through pain" gets him. He can't hurt as a backup. What I found most interesting was he said they moved him to WLB cause we drafted MLB Alfred Fincher. Did Finch get the job already, or is it being handed to him? Or is he behind Watson? |

It would really be good to see him healthy and see what he can do on the field. I'm like WhoDat, not holding my breathe, but crossing my fingers.
