I think he did have something of a streaky reputation early in his career, that seems about right. He also had a bit of a troublemaker rep when he was younger. To his credit though, he worked on both issues and they haven't been a problem for years. The bad attitude was the result of some mental issues, which he has been getting regular treatment and therapy for since several years ago and hasn't had any sort of drama. He's a pretty outspoken advocate for mental health awareness these days. And as far as on the field stuff goes, he's been a dependable pass catcher for the better part of a decade. Don't get me wrong, I'm not super excited about the signing or anything. He's pretty far from his prime, but I don't think you have anything to worry about, aside from whether he can learn the offense and get open. |
