If there was anyone who knew Coleman, it's Sean Payton. I mean he was really good the last few years in Carolina. Saints hit on a few free agents, however just not at the safety position.

At least this dude isn't Jairus Byrd or a penalty magnet on the back end.

Look at it this way. Sean may have been less interested in what Coleman could do and more about what he knew. Nothing like a bit of legal industrial espionage...

Seriously doubt it. If it’s more to do with reconnaissance then you sign a practice squad player or someone on their active roster who hasn’t produced. You don’t sign someone and pay them good money just for homework. Coleman was signed to produce and produce well. He hasn’t.
