Saints haven't fared well against Super Bowl champs from previous year; Saints play Eagles Sunday

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The streak is now at eight. That's VIII in Roman numerals if you prefer speaking Super Bowl lingo. That's how many consecutive times the Saints have lost to a team that won the Super Bowl the season before. https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orle...ticle-nav-prev...

I'm not putting the cart before the horse. The Eagles may not be as bad as their record right now, and I still don't trust our defense, but this, for sure, ain't the Eagles team that won it all last year. They're something significantly less at the moment if you ask me.

They could go on a tear at any moment and they are going to be pissed after last week.

the line has swelled to 8, with the over 57. I don't think the Eagles can win a shootout with us in the dome

as for the 8 in a row streak, SB teams have a tendency to be, you know, pretty good. It's a stat that's not really a stat

It ain't happening.

The Feagles are really banged up, no consistent run game & look no where near what they did last season. Saints have prepared well last 7 weeks & are well coached ... this isn't the toughest team we've faced all season either. Sorry but back ups at corners won't get it done against #9. This team has shown that they will study and expose weaknesses (see Redskins & Cincy games).

Bengals was a "trap" game to a lot of the NFL experts & we hung 51 on em. I'm fully expecting the Feagles to get skull drug come Sunday.

The optimist in me says yeah, you rite.

The pessimist in me says tread lightly.

Could, but I don't expect it. They'll be quoting Mora.

The Eagles have only put up more than 30 points once this season, are 4-5, and have lost 2 0f their last 3 games. What they did before August this year is irrelevant.

What is making them relevant this season?

The Saints on the other hand have put up less than 30 only twice.
