this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think the Bears would be the biggest challenge. Rematch of 06’. “Let’s finish what Katrina started” still sticks in my craw....

Re: Who do you want in the NFCCG?
Considering past games as an indication of future performance, I would rather face the Bears over LA. It's never easy to beat a team twice. We took care of Carolina 3 x last year, but the margin of victory was tighter each time.
Yes, the Bears have a better D, but the Saints offense has yet to be stopped, and is only getting better with each week. Though, our D is improving, I get nervous about high powered offenses. Not sure if the D is that good....yet. If the Eagles game is an indication of the D's future performance, it really won't matter who we face in the playoffs. |

Re: Who do you want in the NFCCG?
Since we brought Sean Payton and Drew Brees in here it's always been a top 5 offense. We can count on that. We live and die each year by the performance of our defense. The offense is good enough to win 50% of games even with the worst defense in the league. We are built in a way that if we can just play complimentary football on defense and special teams we have the ability to beat anyone. A top 10 defense is the key to post season success.
I totally agree that if we can maintain the caliber of defense we are playing now it's a Super Bowl team. |

Can we please not get too ahead of ourselves? Right now, I'd just like the Saints to beat Atlanta tomorrow night.

For me this Saints team is passed the 'something to prove' period and firmly in the 'who get a a beat down'... First Choice - Wont happen, but would be the Falcons. Mostly because... never pass up an opportunity to beat the Falcons. Second Choice - Panthers or Vikings, they both deserve a beat down after all the sh1t talk through the years. Lastly and more than likely, the Rams... Their fans were calling us Bush League after throttling the Eagles, and think that because they beat the Chiefs, our win was a fluke. There is still a lot of football to be played which is evident by all 32 teams being at least 'in the hunt' on NFL.com |
