Ummm MVP is on the line so not exactly insignificant. They just need any excuse to snub Brees, its already happened twice

I am more interested in the team than another title for Drew.. Love him, seriously I do but its not all about him, and I am not going to get upset for a man that has made $221,710,422 over the last 18 years.

As you pointed out, they have always found a reason to snub him; he is bound to have one off game.
