I couldn't agree more. And that crew was supposedly the most experienced in the league, which has me worried that they will be calling playoff games.

Re: Eli Apple learning on the fly: Some good, some bad as DB settles in with Saints secondary
I think "most experienced" was just a fancy polite way of saying they were just REALLY OLD. I'm really not a general fan of ragging on the refs, because refs are human, but they sure seemed to miss an awful lot that particular night. Just multiple blown calls, bad spots, or they were clueless about stuff that was happening with repeated holding, and players getting chippy with each other and whatnot. And they were out of position in a lot of cases, on pass plays, too. It was flat out a bad crew.

Apple has had good and bad games since his arrival. I am a fan of his size and think he did a damn fine job vs. Julio in the Atlanta game. I think he's a building block who will get better as he regains confidence.

Eli Apple had a really good day today - he's getting comfortable and developing chemistry with Mr. Marcus and his Buckeye teammates...

While I don't consider PFF an absolute, as a base line or as a relative gauge, this news is encouraging...

Wish Patrick Robinson could've been rehabbed in time for the end of the regular season and for our Superbowl Championship run...
Could you imagine how good the secondary would be then?!? |
