Power Rankings For Week 15

1. New Orleans Saints (11-2)
Week 14 ranking: 2

Top wish list item: The NFC's No. 1 seed. The Rams opened the door with their loss at Chicago on Sunday night. Now the Saints need to slam it shut with victories at Carolina and at home against Pittsburgh and Carolina to end the regular season. New Orleans is certainly capable of winning on the road, but the team's only Super Bowl in franchise history came when the Saints earned a No. 1 seed in 2009. And it wouldn't hurt to avoid both the Rams and Bears in the divisional round of the playoffs. -- Mike Triplett

Re: Power Rankings For Week 15

Funny how fast things can change in the NFL...

2017
NFC South is the strongest NFL division with three teams vying for the championship to very end of the season and all three making the playoffs.

2018
NFC South posts one great team (the Saints) and three in the lower half of the rankings. Who saw that coming?

As for the playoffs.. we need to win out and secure the top seed. The Dome probably adds 10 points to the spread. The one thing that will carry us to the Super Bowl is the D-line. It makes teams one dimensional and forces QB's into sacks and mistakes. Dallas is marginal at QB at best. We get healthy on the offensive line and it's a different game next time. As the season progresses the fact that LA has no defense is starting to show. They have 1) played a very weak schedule and 2) still won shootouts by tight margins. When they play a balanced team that can run, pass and play D...they play ugly and loose.

The Bears' D looked real on Sunday, but playing is freezing weather sure helped. They may be our strongest test, and if that test happens it needs to be in the Dome.
