Saints back abroad in 2019?
Do New Orleans Saints' fans need to get their passports ready for next season?
It's possible. The Saints could be traveling outside the country to play for for a second time in three years next season. The NFL announced on Wednesday the five teams who will be the "home" teams in its five international games next season. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers will play international games. Four of the games will be played in London and the other is scheduled for Mexico City. The opponents haven't been announced. But the Saints are scheduled to play road games against three of those teams (the Jaguars, the Rams and division foe Buccaneers) next season. So there is a chance they could be making what would be the team's third trip outside the country. The chances of the Saints playing the Bucs in an international game seems unlikely. Since the league started playing the international games in 2007, only three of the 26 games have pitted division opponents against each other. A game against Jacksonville or the Rams seems more probable. more on The Advocate | |

Re: Saints back abroad in 2019?
Saints/Rams would be a big draw, but I think the ratings are actually pretty unspectacular for the various London games. At this point it's mostly about throwing a bone to Shahid Khan of the Jaguars anyways. We just have to accept that there is a "London faction" or "international faction" inside the NFL these days, within the power structure; they will probably never be a powerful or influential enough lobby to move a whole team there, permanently, but we will likely have to live with this stuff for as long as Khan and a few of his buddies are involved in the NFL. It would be kinda interesting to know where Gayle stands on this issue, what she thinks of the London games, if she just follows Tom's position or if she has her own view, but frankly I admit I have no idea what she thinks about he London games in general.

My take on London is scrap the whole thing it’s not going to happen there would be more beating down the door from the London brass to goodell pushing owners to approve a team out there then it’s on to Australia next Rio de janero South Africa Beijing O Canada Cuba. Etc do it or lose it

Another way to screw teams and manipulate schedules to stack decks against teams.
3 games in 11 days..BS Play the same team twice in 3 weeks..BS Personally hate goodell..Hate is a strong word but that crooked commie s.o.b deserves it. |

I have a feeling Pete Carmichael will finally get his chance in 2019.
