Re: Shakiest WR Corps Brees Era
TLL, Kirkwood or Smith need to step up and get some separation so Drew will throw to them. Ginn may come back and give us a lift but he's coming off IR and is no spring chicken. He may take time to get …...up to speed.

Re: Shakiest WR Corps Brees Era
The good news is, I feel like we don't actually need that much to fix the doldrums in the WR corps. Just a little something to help out Thomas and Kamara. I mean if somebody can step up in the mix and get themselves 60+ something yards, in receiving, maybe even 80 yards....heck, that's really all we need to keep drives alive and continue moving the ball to score at will. The way I see it, just a little bump from one of the other receivers will be plenty enough to put us over the top. I mean we have all these other guys, typically getting a couple catches in a game for 20 yards, 25 yards, 15 yards, numbers like that....if one or two of them can get up to 40+ yards, or two of them combine for 80+ yards instead of under 40, throw a TD or two in the mix, and we are back in the business of putting up blowouts....

Re: Shakiest WR Corps Brees Era
We just don’t have any solid role players. They are all having to play multiple roles and we don’t have anyone who can really stretch the field.
Don’t see Ginn helping in that capacity when he returns from injury. He will just be another set of hands. Best we can hope for is him drawing coverage. Should have kept Coleman. |

Re: Shakiest WR Corps Brees Era
In a way I'm glad we aren't totally stacked at WR and TE and have some question marks. We have young talent to develop for the future. And it encourages us to run the ball more with Kamara, Ingram and Hill. Be efficient, control the ball/clock and get rings. That's all that matters.

Re: Shakiest WR Corps Brees Era
Agreed, very, very obvious in tonight’s game. No separation, drops by Smith. Leads to extra coverage on Thomas.

Re: Shakiest WR Corps Brees Era
Ted Ginn is the answer. Nobody wants to believe it but our offense was so much better when we had him in the lineup. Even it’s just taking more coverage away from other WR.
