If we beat the Steelers, then we can power down, rest starters and basically we are poised to clinch #1, no matter what else happens.

If we lose to the Steelers, we can still beat the Panthers and get the #1 back.

We can also still get the #2 seed if we lose to both Pittsburgh AND Carolina, if the Vikings beat the Bears in the season finale (Vikings will be at home).

These calculations are assuming that everything else generally crunches out the way we expect it will, using only the WORST possible cases with the other teams/games. If we lose to Pittsburgh, and to Carolina, and everything else goes "wrong" (Bears Rams Eagles and Cowboys all win out) then we would still likely do no worse than the #3 seed, and host the wild card game and only travel if we are playing #1 or #2. That only happens if we lose out and the Bears beat the Vikings, and the Rams Eagles and Dallas all win too (putting together all the worst combinations, just in case it happens).
