Mike Tomlin dismisses Saints slump: 'They need no endorsement for me'
“They are a 12-2 group. They need no endorsement for me. It seems like every week Drew (Brees) is breaking a new record. He does a great job of utilizing all the eligibles. The running backs are awesome both in the running and passing game. They are formidable for all of those reasons and others."
“It’s going to be a competitive game. Obviously, a hostile environment. That’s life on the road in the National Football League. I’ve actually been down there quite a bit. Back in the day I was the old secondary coach for the Bucs.” https://saintswire.usatoday.com/2018...ees-eli-apple/ |

Tomlin is smart enough to know how good the Saints are and smart enough not to give them bulletin board material.

Steelers are playing for their playoff lives; if that doesn't motivate them I doubt much of anything Cam Jordan says about their QB will either.

I'll take a slumping 12-2 every year. :)

Tomlin is a smart coach. He seems to always say the right things.

We are going to have to beat better teams in the playoffs and this will be a good test. If we can’t at least look competitive against these guys it may be a short post season for us.

Explain. It sounds like you are expecting us to struggle terribly or lose. I'd put the shoe on the other foot. Can they compete with us? |

This is a Superbowl game for the Saints. |

Ya know the Saints are as desperate as the Steelers. They really want that bye. I don't believe they're gonna let anyone stop them from getting it, not even the Steelers.

Re: Mike Tomlin dismisses Saints slump: 'They need no endorsement for me'
This is definitely a bellwether game of what portends in the Tournament for the Saints...
First, we find out if our pass defense is legit with Lattimore on A. Brown and E. Apple on Schuster and if Mr. Marcus and P.J. can patrol the garbage... Second, did Brees lose that eye of the tiger in Big D or are he and Payton simply playing opossum heading into the playoffs... Third, Steelers present yet another top five defensive front seven for our make-it-up-as-we-go offensive line; injuries, especially with Mr. Glass regularly unavailable are catching up with this unit lately... But the Saints don't need to just eek out another win, they need to pound that Steelers D with the run and convert the kill-shots in the passing game - win decisively... Other than getting another shot against Dallas in the playoffs, this is the game I've most looked forward to other than winning the SuperBowl this year because this win means a terrific path to that Big Game... |

For this game we just picked up a whole new cheering section from the Baltimore Ravens..

I don't have a problem with Tomlin BUT the fact that he coaches Little Ben bugs me. So guilt be association.
